Deceitful

Step Two

Narrator POV:

"Why were you with Jughead, Betty?" She heard them ask. Her heart instantly drops while her eyes widen with fear as she slowly turns around to see Reggie looking at her with narrowed eyes. She can tell that his eyes are filled with curiosity but he's never been the brightest tool in the shed so Betty thinks she can get away with that, the blonde goes to open her mouth to answer her friends question until he stops her, his hands raising out in front of her, telling her to stop before she even begins. "I saw you kissing him, and don't try and tell me that he's the one who kissed you because I saw it all" He exclaims, his disappointment seen on his face while he looks at his best friend.

Betty swallowed loudly, not really knowing what to say everything was going fine but then Jughead came into the picture and slowly everything began to go to shit, which is ironic because things were never good in her life anyways. "Aren't you going to say anything!" Reggie snaps, his tone more furious than she ever heard it and it causes her to flinch, taking a step backwards as she tries to think of something to say but thats when a woman with raven haired and pearls hanging around her neck comes into sight, "Excuse me sir, but you do not talk to a woman like that especially when she is pregnant" The woman snaps, her arms crossed with an eyebrow raised. Betty simply smirked and thanked whatever it was that sent this woman her way but little did she know that everything that was going on was part of a bigger plan.

"This is none of your business" Reggie snaps back, his body positioned sideways so he would be able to look between both of them. "It is my business, if you're going to be yelling at a pregnant woman on the side of the diner that I partially own so unless you want me to call the Sheriff, I suggest you leave right this instant" Reggie scoffs and looks over at Betty, who now seems like nothing but a stranger to him after witnessing what he saw but he simply nodded his head and walked away without saying another word. Betty watched as Reggie walked away and got into his car, driving away from the diner and didn't really know what to think, she wasn't sure what Reggie would do or if he was heading where Archie was so he could tell him what he saw but before she could think any longer, the woman who helped her walked over to her and placed her manicured hand onto her shoulder "Are you okay?" She asked in a soft tone, her expensive perfume filling Betty's nostrils. The blonde simply smiled slightly and gave the best innocent look she could come up with and nodded her head yes.

"I've Veronica" The woman then says, extending her hand out, immediately causing Betty to shake it "I'm Betty, it's very nice to meet you" She replies, causing Veronica to smile at her.

While Veronica was getting closer to Betty as she was instructed to do by both her boyfriend and Jughead, the serpent king himself was still on his bike riding as fast as he could to the Whyte Wyrm, his anger radiating all through his body and hating that the kiss Betty gave him was still on his mind but what he hated even more was that he liked it, he liked it a lot. As soon as he arrived to the bar he owned, Jughead parked his bike and immediately walked into the bar and went straight upstairs into his office, slamming the door behind him. He was way too furious and heated to sit down so instead he paced back and forth while he yanked on his dark locks, trying his best to get the kiss out of his mind but he just couldn't. That woman who was currently carrying his child simply did something to him, she always did. Jughead continued to pace back and forth his mind running wild with horrendous thoughts mixed along with unholy ones as well but as he was lost in thought, Sweet Pea barged in slamming the door open causing Jughead to snap out of his thoughts and looked over at his Serpent friend with a scowl.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Sweet Pea asked as he shut the door, then walked right past his leader and took a seat on one of the chairs near the desk. Jughead ran his hands through his hair, letting out a frustrated sigh and finally took a seat besides Sweet Pea "She kissed me" He simply stated, his gaze set straight while running his finger through his bottom lip as if trying to feel her lips on his once again.

"Who kissed you?" Sweet Pea asked in a shock, his eyes widened since he thinks he knows who but isn't quite sure.

Jughead then turned his head to look at his friend, his expression straight and serious "Betty, Betty kissed me when you took off" He replied, his nostrils flaring and once again the anger within him boiling up again. "I hate her, I fucking hate her for thinking she could play with me like this after everything she's doing"

Sweet Pea lets out a long sigh as he stares over at Jughead. Twisting his lips as he thinks whether he should say what he is thinking or not but before he could come to the decision on his own, Jughead narrowed how eyes once he noticed Sweet Pea conflicted.

"What do you think?" He then asked, causing Sweet Pea to let out another sigh, shaking his head a bit since he knew he should simply come out and say what he is thinking "You like her bro and you hate it because of what she's done and who she is and to be honest with you, I think she likes you too" He says, causing Jughead to scoff at his response almost immediately. "You can deny it all you want bro but the truth is that woman wouldn't have gone up to you and kissed you, if she didn't like you. I mean think about it....."Sweet Pea says, turning his body sideways on the chair as he continues to talk to Jughead, "she kissed you, out back of the busiest place in all of Riverdale, where she can get caught by anyone and yet she still did it, she still fucking kissed you Jug, so please tell me I'm wrong. I dare you"

Jughead looks straight, thinking about everything his friend just told him and after a few minutes of thinking, he came to a decision "Forget step two, we're taking her tonight"
