I Will Protect You

Since that day, the three have been almost inseparable and became best friends. It's rare to see one without the other two nearby. Amari eventually became comfortable around the two but still gets pretty shy around the kids she's not close with. Which is why she's usually seen either holding hands with Izuku, Katsuki, or both. Neither of them minded because they felt like her protectors which is like being her heroes even though they haven't gotten their quirks yet. The three of them have always been together until that day a change occurred.

It was pretty much a normal day at kindergarten when the children are dropped off by their parents. Izuku and Katsuki were waiting for Amari near the door so she wouldn't have to try to look for them as soon as she shows up like usual. They started to grow worried when Amari had yet to show up. They grew even more worried when school started and still no sign of Amari. They asked one to the teachers and were told that Amari wasn't feeling well and won't be in school for a while. They were either sad or upset that their friend is not feeling well and hope she will get better soon because things wouldn't be the same without the missing piece of their trio.

It's been about a few days since the two boys saw Amari. They wanted to visit her to see see how she was doing, but they were told that Amari needed to some time alone with her family. Since that day they waited near the door for when she shows up. When it was time for school to start, the two boys were sad or upset until and were about to go to their seats until they heard the door open. They turned around and were glad to see Amari walk in with her mother. She looked around and was happy to see her two best friends who were also happy to see her. The two boys started running towards Amari until they saw a small pair of white glowing wings appear on her back. She jumped and flew towards the surprised boys until the wings suddenly disappeared and she ended up crashing into them as they all end up on the floor. Amari started giggling as, after they got over their chock, the two boys joined in.

"Macchan you got your quirk?" As soon as they got up, Izuku looked at her with awe in his eyes. "That's so cool! Are the wings your quirk or it made it appeared using your quirk?"

Before Amari could answer, their classmates surrounded them and started asking questions or congratulating her. Since she still not that comfortable around other people other then her friends Amari started to felt her social anxiety increasing, so she did what no one was expecting. She started whimpering before she was suddenly surrounded by a white transparent sphere, causing Katsuki and Izuku to fall back in surprise.

"Oh dear." Everyone else moved out of the way as Amari's mother walked over and knelt down next to the sphere. "Amari? Sweetie? It's okay. Everyone was just excited because of your quirk." Amari looked around before closing her eyes and concentrated before the sphere disappeared. "That's my girl." Amari's mother stood up as she watched her daughter go to hold hands with Izuku and Katsuki. "Sorry about that. Amari is still getting a hang of her quirk, so when she feels overwhelmed her quirk acts up. So far she can only create her barriers and those wings of hers, so nothing destructive. But you can call me if something new happens with her quirk."

Amari said goodbye to her mother before sitting at her seat between Izuku and Katsuki. Once school officially started, Amari started paying attention to the lesson. While this was happening, Izuku and Katsuki's gazes were towards the girl sitting in between them. Even though she got her quirk before them, that still doesn't change how they want to protect her like they've alway have. Her having her quirk will never change that. With that in mind, the same thought ran through both of the boys' mind.
