Chapter 18

I stared at Amari and felt my eyes water. I blinked and she jumped up and down on the couch." Yay I beat Mommy again."

Kory clapped and hugged her." I taught you well."

Dang this was the fifth round and she was still winning.

"Round six?" She asked sitting on Korys lap hands on her knees as she leaned towards me her eyes wide.

I giggled and poked her forehead." I quit you are the master." I yawned.

Again.

Kory gave me a very heated look. Even though he didn't say it I knew he meant go to sleep. I refuse." Let's make paper airplanes now,"

Amari crossed her legs." Mommy if your sleepy go to bed."

I stared at her acting like the mom. Kory hugged her tightly to him." Exactly. Tell her again."

Amari rolled her neck." Take your butt to bed."

I rolled my eyes." Tell Kory to stop sneaking around behind my back."

She turned her eyes to Kory tilting her head." Daddy what did we talk about?"

I sat next to Kory getting all in his face as well." Yeah what did we talk about?"

He evenly held our eyes then kissed our foreheads." My two princesses."

I closed my eyes and snuggled against his neck content then opened them again sitting up." Hey!"

Amari and Kory giggled. I pinched my cheeks.

"Mommy can't fight against Daddy."

I wish he would stop teaching her that. "Yes I can. I just don't like to be immature and argue."

Kory stood leaving me to topple and fall where he had been sitting."Mommy is hungry. Let's make her something to eat."

I sat up following them to the kitchen to watch them bond feeling my heart lift thinking about how he and I use to be as well. I yawned again. He grabbed a stepping stool for her smiling at her pulling her hair in a ponytail and wearing a pink apron lookin focused. I should take a picture of this right now.

"You really should."

She started singing causing us to join in with her. I stood and helped as well pulling on my own apron fighting over licking the spoon from the cake mix with Amari. Kory laughed at us and we had to have a sing off. Kory said she won and gave her the bowl I pretended to cry and she fed me some. Isn't she just the sweetest?

We waited for the cake to get done and had to decided which frosting. We let Amari spread it laughing when it was really messy.

We ate it together. My mood could get no brighter after the cake we started watching movies. Disney movies of course. She fell asleep half way threw it. Kory picked her up patting her back. I stood and cleaned up the living room waiting for him to come down again. As I was turning off the T.v his hands pulled me too him. I shivered." Now answer my questions sir."

"You really should be going to sleep."

I shook my head and turned to face him and hold his eyes feeling panic slowly drift through me. I tried my hardest to fight it off." Not going to happen."

He leaned forward so his forehead was to mine." I will put you too sleep."

You promised not to ever do that again.

"You promised not to make me worry. I worry everyday." He muttered picking me up.

I wrapped my legs around his waist sighing."That doesn't count. You worry about me even when you don't have too."
