Summary :

Yoongi is a cold workaholic lawyer who has mistreated his overworked assistant Taehyung everyday for the last year. One snowy night, Taehyung finally has enough, and Yoongi doesn't see it coming.

or, the twitter summary:

"AU where Yoongi is a lawyer & Tae his quirky assistant. Yoongi pays him no mind, barking orders, barely making eye contact - until one night they're leaving work late together. Suddenly Taehyung hits the stop button on the elevator & Yoongi finds himself pressed against the wall."

It was one in the morning and the top floor of the office was eerily dark except for two dim lights; one shining from the large corner office at the end, and another from the small cramped reception desk right next to it. Yoongi knew that Taehyung wouldn't leave unless Yoongi left first, but he still had work to do.

Yoongi had a business deal they had to finish; the paperwork was astronomical. He couldn't do it alone, however, and it was Taehyung's job to help. So what if that meant he was kept long after hours? He should be grateful for this job. Yoongi was one of the most successful lawyers in Seoul.

Work hard, play hard. That was Yoongi's motto.

Recently, he didn't have as much time to play as he wanted, but he vacationed in Thailand, travelled to Amsterdam, skied in Aspen, etc. He had fun. But now was not the time. They'd been working on this deal for months now.

Focus .

He had to focus. He rubbed blearily at his eyes, wondering idly if Taehyung had dropped his dry cleaning off earlier; he needed his black suit with the navy lapels for his deal merger meeting later this week. Yoongi yawned and stretched like a cat at his large desk.

He needed coffee. Taehyung. He needed Taehyung to get him coffee. Fuck the hour, he could figure it out.

"Kim." Yoongi said loud enough to carry but not enough to take too much effort; Taehyung would hear.

"Y-yes sir?" Taehyung was there in seconds, spluttering as usual.

Yoongi glanced at him for just a moment, enough to see the bags under his eyes and his tousled hair, but turned back to his desktop.

"I need coffee." Yoongi said.

"It's -" Taehyung responded but Yoongi was too tired to hear him complain.

"I know what time it is, Kim. Just go."

Yoongi could hear Taehyung standing in the doorway, but he didn't care. He didn't care how Taehyung got him his large, black, iced americano, only that he did it and did so now. Taehyung would realize in a few moments, as usual, that Yoongi was done talking to him.

He did. And he left.

Good.

Yoongi heard low muttering, scuffling footsteps, and then the elevator ding. Once the door slid close Yoongi closed his eyes and leaned his head against the desk. Sleep. Fuck, he just wanted to sleep . But he couldn't. He couldn't fuck up this merger. Months and months of work and no sleep.

This merger would change the face of their law firm and how he would continue to practice, how their entire firm would run. So much money at stake. Yoongi, being so successful so quickly, was given a hefty amount of responsibility here. He was grateful for the notice. But now... now his bed at his high rise apartment was flashing in his vision. He wanted to go home but - not yet. A few more documents to review. A presentation to finish. Checks to write. Frauds to hide.
