CONTEXT:
↳ You've been having a hard time with your studies lately and on the borderline to failing. Before attending a school of arts, you made a deal with your parents. If you were to fail your studies, you would have to leave the school and enter a business or lawyer school of their choice. Your passion took over your mind in the moment and you agreed. You already know that your parents are just waiting for you to crawl back into their arms and tell them that they were right. The difficulty with your studies is leading you to question if it was really worth following your dream.

STORY:
My back faced the wall as I leaned against it. "You're stupid, a stupid idiot." I smacked my face, murmuring these words to myself. "You thought you could achieve your dumb dream, but you're not cut out for it," I told myself. Tears flowed out of my eyes, causing a stream down my cheeks. It continued, creating a river of sadness. "I thought I could really prove them wrong for once, but just admit it, you're always going to be wrong. I should've just went to business school and cried it off." I tried to blink in attempt of stopping the tears, but it just caused more to come out. "Stop thinking about it, overthinking is going to make you cry more." I banged the back of my head against the beige wall.

"I'm home!" Jaemin called out. There was no response. I thought that if I didn't answer, maybe he wouldn't catch the weakness in my voice from my sobs. I rubbed my eyes, trying to make it seem as though I wasn't crying even though I already knew that he'd spot my red eyes in a flash. I heard footsteps echoing through the halls until there was a slight creek from the door. His head peeked through the opened door and his eyes softened. He approached me and sat down next to me, resting his head on my shoulder.

"What's wrong?" His voice was gentle, but he seemed eager to know.

"You know how I haven't been doing so well in school. My parents found out and called the office. They're planning on sending me to some private school if I don't get any better.." The tears came back to visit once again, only giving me a few breaths as a break. "And I think there's a possibility of them being right, maybe it's just not for me," I sniffed.

"Don't give up, I know you can do it." He leaned in and softly kissed my forehead. "They're wrong, I know you can prove them wrong. It's your life, your dream, not theirs. You can do it if you continue trying your best. Maybe it'll take some time, but I know you can do it if you really put your mind to it."

"You can't be so sure, I'm a pretty disappointing person."

"No you aren't, if you were, why would you think I would have dated you?" He hugged my arm and intwined his fingers into mine, rubbing his thumb against the back of my hand in comfort.

"Thanks for talking to me.." I mumbled.

"Anytime, any place. Just remember, you're never alone because you have me. I'll always, always be here for you when you need me whether it's about your insecurities or your struggle with finding out what you want to eat for dinner," he chuckled. "I'll be here to listen." He planted a kiss on my hand.
