In the middle of a grassy field, a simple wooden cross is planted. Suddenly, a hand bursts out of the dirt, followed by another. It is Dean, and he crawls his way out of the ground, groaning and gasping. He lies on his back, panting. He stands, looks around in the glaring sunlight. Around his crude headstone is a perfect circle of dead trees, laying on the ground as if an unearthly power had felled them.
Through hazy heat, Dean walks down an empty road and approaches an abandoned gas station. He pounds on the door.
"Hello?" Dean calls out hoarsely. He rolls up his outer shirt over his right hand, breaks the glass on the door. Inside, he grabs a water bottle from a fridge and gulps at it, gasping. He finds a newspaper and sees the date: Thursday, September 18th.
"September." He reads. He then thinks to himself that he missed Ellie's birthday as he has been out to four months. He walks to the bathroom thinking about his brother and sister, he washes his face in a dingy sink, then looks up and stares at his reflection. Frowning, he stands, pulls the shirt up to expose his chest, he thinks about his chest being apart by Hellhounds and then stares at his unblemished, unscarred chest in the dingy gas station mirror. He turns his left shoulder to the mirror and pulls the sleeve to reveal a large, raw handprint brand. He walks back into the mart pulling snacks and energy bars from shelves, along with several bottles of water, and stashes them in a plastic bag. Stopping in front of a magazine stand he grins slowly. On the stand is an Busty Asian Beauties. He picks it up, smirks, flips through it and stuffs it in the bag too. As he walks away the smirk falters when he hears a voice in his head. "Ew, dude, little sister present." He thinks about his little sister and becomes even more desperate to find them. He goes over to the counter and sets down the bag, and hits a single button on the register, snapping his fingers in satisfaction when it pops open.UNKNOWN LOCATION
Ellie sits on the floor of the wooden room waiting for Castiel to come back, as she closes her eyes to fall asleep as she feels as if she hasn't slept in months... which she hasn't to be fair. The blue eyed angel appears in front of her, she scrambles to her feet.
"Cas, what's happened, is he safe?" Ellie asks quickly, walking up to him.
"Dean Winchester has been raised from Hell." Castiel informs her, she smiles brightly, laughing slightly and without even thinking she wraps her arms around him. Castiel widens his eyes at this and doesn't know what to do. Ellie laughs at this and breaks the hug.
"Cas, for future reference, when someone hugs you... You, er, normally hug back." She explains. "So when can I see my brothers?"
"Not quite yet, I am going to try and reach out for Dean using my natural voice.. Some people can understand it when angels communicate, so we need to know if Dean is one of the special ones." Castiel explains. "I would close your eyes because I am going into my true form and it will blind you."
"Oh lovely, showing off for me are ya?" Ellie jokes, Castiel looks at her with furrowed eyebrows causing her to just smirk shaking her head. "Alright." Ellie sighs and closes her eyes then covering them with her arms as a bright white light engulfs her.GAS STATION MART
As Dean is looting the cash, the TV to his left flicks on, showing only static. He shuts it off, only to have a radio to his right turn on to white noise. Not wasting a moment, he goes to another shelf and grabs a carton of salt, opens it, and begins to pour it along the windowsill. A high-pitched single tone begins, and Dean clutches his left ear in pain as he continues to pour salt with his right hand. As it continues, he drops the salt and crouches to the floor, groaning in agony. The window above his head shatters at the sound continues, and he drops to the floor. He leaps to his feet to try to escape, and more glass on the ceiling and walls shatters. He looks around cautiously.
Dean quickly leaves the store going towards a phone booth. Dean dials a number and hears only an alert tone telling him the number has been disconnected. He hangs up and inserts another coin, dialling another number. It rings until it reaches a voicemail.
"You've reached the voicemail of Jean Montana, you know what to do." Ellie's voice comes out causing Dean's heart to leap. He frustratingly hangs up again. He dials one more number and after one ring it is picked up.
"Yeah?" Bobby's voice comes out.
"Bobby?" Dean asks quickly.
"Yeah?"
"It's me." Dean says desperately.
"Who's 'me'?"
"Dean." A dial tone sounds at this, Dean hangs up the receiver and dials again.
"Who is this?" Bobby snaps.
"Bobby, listen to me."
"This ain't funny. Call again. I'll kill ya." There is a dial tone again, Dean hangs up the phone. He quickly sees a beat up white car parked outside. His eyes light up; he hotwires the car and pulls away from the gas station.
