Frantic tapping at my window woke me up the next morning. I shot out of bed, streams of sunlight broke through my curtains and I knew I was late straight away. It was the first day of classes and I was already off to a bad start. The dorm was empty besides me, the other girls must have thought it funny to leave me to be late. I noticed the tapping sound was coming from Pippin who was still at the window, she had a letter strapped to her leg but I didn't have time to read it or respond. I untied the letter and left Pippin to find her way up to the Owlery.

I forced my robes on in such a hurry that I almost forgot to button up three of my buttons. I shoved my wand into my pocket, grabbed my bag and ran out of the dorms. Having just enough time to brush my teeth and running a hairbrush through my matted red waves.

Running was not permitted in the Hogwarts corridors but I was already so late that that rule must have slipped my mind. I bolted down the rocky corridors, losing my way multiple times. My shoes against the floor had become the only sound I could hear. I nibbled at my lip and turned a corner beginning to lose hope that I'd ever find where my first lesson was. I was met face first with someone. I was knocked back with such force that I stumbled and fell to my knees. They must have been running too.

"Hey! Watch it!" I barked, finally turning my head up to the person I bumped into. Harry Potter and Ron Weasley were stood, guilty looks on their faces and red cheeked like they had been running a marathon on a summer day. At their feet was a pile of their books.

"I- Sorry." was all Harry could manage out before he extended a hand to help me up. I looked from his hand to the awkward smile on his face and let him help me up.
"Yeah it's a bloody maze in here, we've been trying to find Transfiguration for almost fifteen minutes." complained, Ron.
"So have I. Oh, sorry, here." I bent down to pick up their books, putting them in a neat pile and handing them back to Harry. He smiled and muttered thanks.

"Well, I can't be of any help I'm just as lost as you are." I sighed, brushing myself off and looking around the empty hallway for anyone who could give us directions. Ron smiled kindly, "Well, thanks anyway Valeria." He tugged on Harry's sleeve as he turned to leave.

"Um, well, we'll see you in class then?" Harry asked as he was being whisked away by Ron. I smiled and shrugged, "Sure."
