Prolouge : Birth of the Serpents

As the legends go Salazar Slytherin, one of the four founders of Hogwarts lived a thousand years before our story begins.

For a man who's legend surrounds him with darkness love would not spring to mind alongside the image of the man, however you'd be wrong to think so.

A secret from all but three. Himself, His Wife and His Secret Daughter, Serpensi. Who was born 12 years before his departure from the school. Unnaturally gifted in the means of magic especially in the dark arts. For this her father only saw her as a weapon, a weapon to cleanse the world of those unworthy to learn magic, and for this she only desired to serve her father to her dying breath and to find one pure of blood and soul for herself...

At the end of her second year, with her father exiled from Hogwarts with only time and patience as their ally. Salazar commanded her to rest deep within the Chamber of Secrets. Knowing he could not win within his own lifetime - as long as it may be. Casting an ancient curse over his daughter making it so that only when true darkness re-enters the chamber she shall awaken. To aid his daughter in her seemingly impossible task Salazar gifted her a basilisk to keep her and the chamber safe if one not worthy should enter the Chamber.

Serpensi's spirit was first awakened, however not fully, in the fading, summer months of 1942. When her far distant descendant Tom Riddle first entered the Chamber. The cursed placed on her by her father almost 1000 years prior, sensed the soul of Tom Riddle was not yet fully emerged in darkness and not a powerful enough ally for Serpensi. 

With the later downfall of Tom Riddle at the end of the First Wizarding War it seemed as if Serpensi's slumber would be eternal. Until the manipulations of the late Lord Voldemort through his Horcrux bound to his diary from 1942. The Chamber was reopened. The Basilisk was killed, the Horcrux was destroyed, and Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore were victorious once again but, they all forgot one thing - the dark magic contained in the diary had to go somewhere and it found it's way to Serpensi...
