Chapter 25 - Serpensi's Secret

For almost a year now, Serpensi has been readying herself to tell her friends her secret. It has brewed up like a bad potion inside her ready to explode at a moments notice, and now she was ready to...

Before she could get out her secret, Hermione butted in  "Oh sorry S. I just have to get this off my chest." And for the next hour or so Serpensi, Ron and Draco - who Serpensi had noticed sat further away from Ron than would be considered normal, and so they heard in full the entire night's evens, finishing with a very confusing " Good Night " from Professor Dumbledore. So then for the next thirty minutes, they stayed exactly where they were and debated how the professor could have known what was going on. The only real contribution from Draco was something along the lines of Crackpot old fool.

Serpensi had to admit, when she first heard about the Time-Turner she had the thought that she could go back and see her family and live her life the way she had always wanted. She could kill her horrible father. She managed to stop herself before she got her hopes up

She realised that Time-Turner's must have been a relatively new wizard invention because they were not around when she was born. She knew nothing about them and how far she could go back, but she knew that one question to Hermione would give her a very accurate and concise history of the Time-Turner. And for another thing, she had only just decided to accept her new life and be a good person. She had just hoped Morfin never got hold of one, as she was sure he would use it for more than just evil. She imagined it would probably involve sleeping with women in some sort of con or scam.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Hermione spoke up "Serpensi, what did you want to say?" "Ummm. Ummm." Her eagerness to begin the story started to show until Draco turned to her and said "You know it would be nice to learn a bit about you for once, I honestly can't say I know much about you to be fair." The Golden Trio just nodded in agreement. Rubbing her sweaty hands together trying to think of the way to start her story off. "I guess I should start from the beginning." "And that is when exactly?" Ron snarkily replied. 

Putting on a very dramatic voice Serpensi said "Many moons ago on a cold winters night." As they began to laugh at her attempt to be serious, as they quietened down she responded "No, but seriously."

For the next hour and half anyone who had happened to walk past the Hospital Wing would've heard a few strange things, such as "When I was 7 I got my first dragon and..." and "oh no, that was the time he took too much Felix Felicis..." and "that was when Mama wept for a week" and "we unfortunately had no choice but to put the Niffler in the bag." and finally "that's how I ended up in the chamber. Cheers for waking me up Harry, I think I overslept." 

As she finished her story, she looked up to see four very confused faces. Ron was the first one to speak up "So what we got from that is, that you're an 800 odd year old witch who's only purpose was to kill muggles?" She chuckled nervously "Basically. Yeh that's me." "Watch out for this one Hermione." said the two Gryffindor boys together "she's out to get you." "Looking good for 800, Serp." Draco whistled "I wouldn't have said a day over 600." They all cracked up laughing, which felt odd for them to be laughing with Draco and visa versa. 

Hermione managed to quieten them all down and said "I pledge to always keep Serpensi's Secret." and the three boys repeated after her. Serpensi looked around with a big smile and happiness in her heart at her new group of friends., and then to top it all off Draco broke the silence "You know what. You're not all that bad Pottah. You too Weasley and Granger." the foursome looked at the blonde in shock "Still not a fan of those glasses though."

As another year came to an end, the Trio had another average end of year feast that night before they left on the train, but the only difference was, now instead of one smiling face looking at them from the Slytherin table there was now two smiles.
