dracos pov
i stepped out of the dark lords' office and bolted up the stairs and into my room. i had to figure out how i could get y/n here without suspicion. i got it. i'll tell her i want to get back together, spend the whole summer with her, then bring her to the dark lord. ah, you're so smart, draco. i smiled to myself and picked up a quill and a sheet of parchment.
'dear y/n,
i'm so sorry for the vague conversation we had in the boys' dorm at hogwarts. i want to make it up to you. meet me at hogsmeade tomorrow afternoon, please. we can go on a.. date.
l̶o̶v̶e̶ farewell,
draco malfoy.'
wow i suck at writing letters. i called the family eagle owl over. it flew over to me. "take this to y/n y/l/n, please." i told him as i gently tied the note to his leg. he hooted. "thank you."

y/n's pov
12:00 pm, lunch time
i walked over to the gryffindor table in the great hall. "hey guys!" i greeted them. in return i got some 'hey' 'hello!' and 'hi!'s. "i can't believe today is the last day of my 6th year!" harry looked at me and said, "i know, i can't believe it's my last year. and that i'm never coming back.." he frowned. oh. i forgot it was their last year.. "i'm-im sorry for bringing it up." i said softly. "don't worry! it's alright!" hermione butted in. i giggled.
"happy birthday to you!" a familiar voice said, waltzing into the great hall. fred!
"happy birthday to you!" another voice said. george!
"happy birthday dear, y/n!!!" they said together.
"happy birthday to you!" ron shouted. everyone burst into chuckles and snorts. "thanks guys! really!" i said, turning to the weasley twins. fred gave me a wink and george threw up jazz hands. "well, y/n. i hope you have a SMASHing birthday today!" fred said, smirking at the word smash. "huh-?" before i could finish my sentence, fireworks filled the room, and confetti surrounded me. "guys!" i growled playfully. they snickered. "tsk tsk, ickle y/l/n!" george protested! they lifted me up onto their shoulders. "guys! guys! put me down!" i fought to get down. "i'm 17! not 6!" i shouted. "ah, yes you are, but you'll always be 6 in our minds!" fred yelped as he threw me into the air. "weasley!" i shouted. "you've already graduated, you shouldn't even be here! put me down-!"
"if you say so!" he said, dropping me, letting me fall on the ground. "hey!" i said, scrambling to get up. "y/n, are you alright?" harry shouted from the table. "yup! just dandy." i said, glaring at fred and george. they both winked and turned away. "sorry y/n! they're so childish." ron scowled.
"no, no! it's all good." i protested. hermione laughed out loud. suddenly, an eagle owl swooped into the great hall, heading to the gryffindor table. he flew above us, dropping a neatly folded envelope in front of me.
"you've got birthday mail!" hermione exclaimed. "who's it from?" harry asked. "..the malfoy manor.." i responded, bewildered. was draco apologizing? hesitantly, i opened the envelope and read the letter neatly written on the parchment.  "dear y/n,
i'm sorry for the vague conversation we ha din the boys' dorm at hogwarts.
to make it up to you, meet me at hogsmeade tomorrow afternoon, please.
l̶o̶v̶e̶ farewell,
draco malfoy." i read aloud.
i looked up to see all three of them gaping at me. before anyone could say anything, i heard a high pitch voice yelping my name. "y/n?! y/n y/l/n! hello? where are you!?"
"alora." i grumbled.
"ooh, good luck with that." ron joked.
