3 Days Later
I woke up Sunday morning, absolutely dreading going to church. I didn't want to face my peers or any of the churchgoers. I wonder if they all know that I am a pregnant 15-year-old. I took a shower and dressed in a dark green dress that goes just past my knees.
My mom called us down for breakfast. We had eggs, bacon, and toast. It is almost 8:40, so it is time for us to leave for church which starts at 9.
The car ride to church was uneventful, just us talking about our weeks and such. We pulled up to the church and the people outside of the church were staring at the car. They're probably staring at me. The pregnant 15-year-old. My family shouldn't have to go through this because I made a mistake. Maybe I should give the baby up for adoption? Then it will be like nothing happened, but I'm not sure if I could give my baby up. We walked into the church and said hello to everyone we knew. I saw Lily and Derek and waved them over to come to say hi.
We found an empty row of red cushiony seats and sat down for the church service. Our church is beautiful with big stain glass windows. The church is actually pretty large, but it doesn't look that way from the outside. Our minister, Christopher, started with the usual introduction. After the introduction, he went to the sermon. The sermon today was about abstinence and how sex before marriage is a sin. He definitely knows that I'm pregnant, but he is pretty much calling me out. The majority of the congregation looked over at me at least once when he was speaking.
After the grueling half an hour sermon, we sang some songs from the books. We also took prayer requests and prayed. I'm so thankful that no one said anything about my pregnancy or that I was pregnant. Church ended after an hour and a half. We were getting ready to leave after chatting with everyone again. We got into the car and started to drive away with the windows down when I heard our minister yell my name and I saw him in the parking lot. The rest of my family didn't hear him. Which I'm very glad about.
We got home and I told my mom I would make lunch. I started to make chicken and parm with spaghetti. I was very glad to be focused on something besides my pregnancy or worried about telling my parents. Maybe I should make something for my parents to break the news to them, but maybe not. I finished cooking after about an hour. Everyone ate and said that they loved it! I haven't baked in a while I should soon. It will give me a distraction and help me destress a little. I went upstairs after eating to read two chapters of "To Kill a Mockingbird" that we have to read for English. After I finished the chapters, I went to the living room and put on Fuller House, which is one of my favorites. While that is playing, I decided to go on Pinterest and look for chocolate cake recipes, since that is my parents' favorite type of cake. Maybe I should make it in a week or two to tell them that they're going to be having a grandchild. I have to do it before I start to show though. I went to my room and took a shower. After my shower, I changed into some comfy pants and a warm sweatshirt. I did some homework that I needed to do. I also downloaded the ColorNote app to make a list of all the things I need to do. For example, I need to bake the cake, tell my parents and the rest of the family, get an ultrasound, and get ready for the upcoming holidays. I hear a knock on my door, it's my mom wanting to talk. She comes in and sits on the edge of my bed.
"Honey, how are you feeling? Have you still been sick?" She concerningly asks me.
"I'm feeling better than on Wednesday mom. I don't feel sick anymore, maybe it was just a little stomach bug or something," I shrug.
"I've noticed that you've been throwing up lately. Did the doctor say anything about that?"
"No, mom she didn't say anything about that." Why is she questioning me so much!
"I've also noticed that you've been eating a lot lately sweetie."
"I've been extra hungry lately mom, nothing to worry about," I say reassuringly. My mom knew something was up that's why she was questioning me. She asked me the one thing she already knew the answer to and the one thing that I didn't want to answer.
