Shadows | Muke Clemmings

Chapter 2

"Um...." Liz said, glaring at the small hunched up figure.
"Shit! Sorry I... Erm.... Bye!" They said, standing up quickly, their hood up far enough to be covering their face. Their voice was the only thing telling me he was clearly a boy, as everything else about him was black and white. The voice was unfamiliar.
"Who even are you?" Liz said, crossing her arms, "When Nialls not around, this is our territory! No one even knows about this place! How have you found it?"

She was glaring at him in a way which would make anyone uncomfortable. "Give it a eat Lizzie!" I said, nudging her.
"Sorry It's j-just no ones e-ever here so I thought... Never mind, bye." The boy said, looking down at his feet. I could see the tips of his blonde quiff poking up from him hoodie.

I looked at Liz, clearly telling her she was being an idiot. This kid was clearly insecure and quiet and she wasn't in any way helping his situation. She sighed and said, "Sit back down, it's fine." I smiled at her and we all went back to sit back down. "Who are you anyway?" She was still glaring at him, but not so harshly this time.
He carefully lowered his hood and looked up at us, "Luke Hemmings..."

His words lingered in my head. So this was Luke Hemmings, the "bad boy" everyone couldn't stop talking about. He looked around about a year younger than us, which I soon found out he in fact was. He kept glancing at James, wondering why he want talking. Soon enough, James snapped and said, "Have you got a fucking problem with me?"
"Sorry I just... S-sorry..." Luke was playing with the tips of his hoodie nervously, continuously looking down, in a manner which made him a,ways look nervous.
"James..." I said, giving him a look, "Sorry about him, he's just a bitch on her period!" I said, earning a smile from Luke.

"Okay, I know that I know you guys but... Who are you?" Luke said, for once looking up and actually staring at us.
Lizzie chuckled and said to him, "We're just ordinary outcasts." Luke half smiled and said, "But, why havent I seen you guys before?"
Now, Lizzie stayed quiet, she didn't exactly know, but I did, "The same reason we've never seen you, everyone knows us, just most people choose not to."
"So you guys always just hide out here?" He said, looking back down to the ground.
"Only when Nialls not around..." James sighed, returning his gaze to the floor.
"N-niall? I-isnt he p-pretty much the biggest b-bully in school?" Luke said, now sounding extremely nervous, it was actually kinda cute knowing that the schools bad boy was so weak on the inside.
"Since when do you care about bullies? Your the biggest bad boy in school!" Lizzie said, rolling her eyes.
"Bad boy? Yeah I always get in trouble but I always just hang out here and hide from everyone!" Luke said, partially sounding defensive.
"Then how do you explain black eye?" I said, sounding puzzled.
Luke went quiet...

In a way, I guess we're pretty similar to Luke. He looks harsh and mean but on the inside, he's sensitive and sweet. Meanwhile, me Lizzie and James looks sensitive and sweet but on the inside, we're the biggest jerks you could imagine. I guess you could say we're like Devils from Heavan.

Also, Luke said he's always hiding, I guess that kind of like us. We make it our mission to hide from Niall, not that it exactly works.

After a long awkward silence, I said suddenly, "Luke, you should hang with us more often!"
His eyes partially lit up, even though they had seemed dead just seconds ago. "O-okay... But not Niall..." He said, looking bit to the ground. I smiled at him and said, "Definitely not Niall!"

On our way to our next lesson, Liz pulled me aside, giving me an evil eye, "Not Niall? Do you want to get us beaten up? Even more so, do you want Luke to get beaten up... Again!"
"Look, you and James can stick around with Niall but I'll... Find a way... To get.... Distant! He's in hardly any of my lessons anyway!" I said, shrugging her off and continuing walking.
"Pft, pathetic, we both know this won't work! Your just being selfish, cause if me and James are the only ones around, we're the only ones for it to be taken out on!" She Saadi, giving me one last uncomfortable glare then storming off. I froze, partially from fright but mainly from guilt.

This was shorter than I would have hoped but the next chapter is going to be really great! I promise ;)
Okay so, for this story, this is the beginning of Muke! Anyway, it only gets better from here... For us... For Michael is only gonna get worse ;)
