We woke with the soft autumn sun beaming down in the gaps through the trees. I opened my eyes with struggle and began to pack my bag. Rhydian was nice and all but I couldn't risk him getting hurt because of me. I pulled all my clothes into the bag along with some rope and food, my dagger stayed in the side of my belt just for emergencies. I had to be stealthy so I didn't wake him. Soon I was ready to leave I had my bag on my back and myself fed fully the only thing left was... My hair, it had always looked this long I needed a change, after all my brown hair looked better short, I hoped. I took out my dagger and held my hair tightly narrowly I cut it from where the end of my hands were, the long waist length hair now flowed shoulder length short and agile I hoped it made me look less of the person I used to be.
I looked over at the patch of grass where Rhydian had been. Wait had been!? "No no no no no," I began to panic "If he's awake he might see me leaving and want to come... I can't let him he could get killed!" I felt someone touch my back and take steady breathes.
"Look," it was Rhydian "I don't care I can see this omen that you can talk to. I can see his movement, when he is growing stronger and when he is going to kill."
'Don't listen to him, he's lying' the lying was emphasised to make what was being said have a meaning. 'He's trying to gain your trust how sweet, look I may seem evil but honestly you really did hate the girl. I was just, how do you put it; doing you a favour. His only aim is to really see you dead like the king... you heard what he said the dark spirits do as he pleases you don't want to be wandering alone with a monster...
'Too bad I already am...' I thought suddenly 'You!'
"For heaven sakes whatever you do don't run after me..!" I cried I could feel Thorne growing stronger inside me "goodbye," I ran far far away hoping Rhydian hadn't followed after. I ran for hours and hours knowing it was growing stronger until I could hold it back no longer. I slouched upon a eroding archway and let Thorne be released, "Go run be free but when you want to come back I won't be willing." I held my chest as fog began to surround me thoroughly.
"Why thank you," it hissed "but I won't be coming back I am almost strong enough on my own now. I will still be linked to you still feeding off your ever growing fear, oh it is pleasing I see that face of yours. But it won't pull that face much longer the first thing I avenge when I'm strong enough will be... YOU!"
I fell back and clutched my pocket knife now I had wished Rhydian had come. Thorne approached me it's cold lifeless face full of evil. It was going to kill me, I had no help, I was alone.
Slowly I drew my jagged dagger, this was my first attempt at using a knife for war purposes. what was I to do? I could feel the pressure closing in...
"Help!" I squealed. As it began to solidify into a human, well sort of.
I pulled back my dagger and waited... until..!-=END OF CHAPTER=-
