Next day, while Sophie was preparing her coffee, the door of the apartment opened and her mother entered, "Sophie? It's been ages since I've seen you home" Lauren remarked taking off her jacket.

"Yeah" The brunette muttered silently

"Is everything okay?" Her mother asked worried.

Sophia stayed silent for a few minutes before answering, "I know"

"You know what?" Lauren asked approaching her daughter who looked up at her mother

"Jean Park, Michael Midwinter. Ring any bells?" Sophia asked, her face emotionless.

Lauren stayed silent for a few seconds staring at Sophia, "Luke told you?"

She frowned, "Is that all you care about? Not the fact that you're not even my mother or that I'm some type of a werewolf"

Lauren quickly shook her head trying to hold her daughter's hand but Sophia stepped away from her, "No of course I care, I wanted to be the one to tell you"

"So why didn't you?"

"I wanted you to have a normal life, that's what your parents always wanted not for you to worry about some psycho coming after you" Lauren justified.

Sophia passed her hand through her hair before turning to her mother, "I need you to tell me the whole truth, I want to know everything"

"I have to show you something" Sophia frowned as she followed her mother out of the apartment to her car.

As they rode the car together, Sophia huffed in annoyance, "I don't understand, where are you taking me?"

Lauren stayed silent focusing on the road while Sophia was lost in her thoughts about everything she was about to discover.

"What is this place?" Sophia asked as her mother took her to some apartment she have never seen before.

"That was your mother's apartment" Lauren answered.

Sophia walked around the place noticing that it was clean, "It looks weirdly clean for 18 years ago"

"I have it cleaned every once in a while" Sophia nodded before she walked to one of the dressers who had a photo on it, "Wow! She was so---" Sophia commented.

Lauren continued, standing beside her daughter, "Beautiful. I used to get jealous of her, she got all the guys"

Sophia put the photo down then sat on the couch, "So how did you meet her?"

Lauren sighed sitting in the chair in front of the brunette, "We were roommates in college, Jean was like a sister to me. Much like you and Clary"

Lauren took a deep breath continuing, "After she was scratched by a wolf, the next full moon she transformed and I couldn't let her do it alone"
