After they went back to the institute, Clary went to her room while Sophia checked her phone to see about 5 missed calls from her mother and 20 text messages, she sighed turning around ready to leave, "Where are you going?"

She heard Jace ask so she turned around to look at him, "Leaving?"

"Did you tell Clary?" He asked crossing his arms in front of his cheat.

The brunette shrugged, "She had a rough day, she should rest"

"What about you? You were there, too"

She sighed, "Yeah but my mother will literally kill me if I stay here any longer I need to make sure she's okay, tell Clary I'll call her alright"

As she was about to leave she turned around one last time, "Oh and by the way, thank you for saving Simon. I mean I know you didn't exactly do it for him but to impress a specific redhead" She teased with a smirk on her face.

Jace frowned, "I don't know what you're talking about"

"You guys are so clueless, it's getting funny to watch, see ya" She said before finally leaving the institute.

"Mom! You home?" The brunette asked as soon as she got into the house.

"Sophia? God! I was so worried" Lauren went to hug her daughter.

"Mom I'm fine" She said laughing as her mother was hugging her tighter than usual, "You spent the whole day outside. What were you doing?" Lauren asked

The brunette shrugged, "I was hanging out with Clary and Simon"

Lauren's eyes widened, "You know where Clary is? Luke has been looking everywhere for her"

Sophia nodded slowly, "Yeah tell him not to worry, she's fine"

"Alright, you want to eat something?" Lauren smiled at her daughter smoothing her hair.

"Sure" She answered with a smile as they started preparing the table.

When they were eating Lauren put her fork down turning to her daughter, "I want to talk with you, Sophia"

The brunette frowned staring at her mother, "What is it, mom?"

Lauren stared at her daughter with love in her eyes, "Do you know that you're the best thing that has ever happened to me?"

Sophia smiled at her mother, "Why are you saying that?"

"It's just that---" Lauren was cut off when Sophia's phone rang, she looked at her phone, "It's Maureen, just give me a second, okay"

After the brunette hung up on Maureen she went to her mother, "Mom, I'm so sorry but I really need to go" Sophia said taking her jacket.

"But you only just got back and I wanted to talk to you" Lauren argued staring at her daughter.
