" Euh, I mean, " Nicholas said stammering.

" Yeah, you're still sweet, " Fern said. She smiled and continued eating.

After that conversation, it was dead quiet in the room. No one said anything, everything quickly turned awkward again.

" Thanks, Nicholas, the sandwiches were delicious, " Fern said as she prepared to go home.

Nicholas leaned over to Fern and hugged her.

Woah, okay, Fern thought.

" Thank you, Fern, I had a great time hanging out with you tonight, see you tomorrow, " Nicholas said. She led Fern out the door and waved at her.

Fern waved back before riding back to her house which is only a few houses away.

As she arrived on her front porch, she saw another gift basket. She leaned closer to it and examined it. This was a bit simpler than the one yesterday. It consists of a single rose flower and a heart box. It's probably chocolate in it.

Fern lifted the basket and brought it inside. This time she actually appreciated it. She took the stuff out. She put the rose flower in her flower vase and put the chocolate in the fridge.

She went to shower then put on her tank top and biker shorts to go to bed.

" Night Coco, sweet dreams, " Fern mumbled before dozing off.

The next day was Saturday. Fern slept in until 8.00 AM. She got up to shower before putting on shorts and a hoodie. She walks to the kitchen and slides her croissant in the microwave. She waited while playing her phone.

Suddenly, she saw a notification pop up. It was from Nicholas. Her eyes glittered and her heart was pounding as she read it.

Nicholas: Morning! :)

Just that one text brightened Fern's mood. She jumped up and down with joy and a bright smile popped up.

She sat back down and texted her reply.

You: Morning! :D

She let out a sigh of relief and waited for the reply. It came really quickly later on.

Nicholas: Any plans for today?

Fern texted her reply directly.

You: Nope, why?

Joy was flowing through Fern's blood. She knew what Nicholas's intentions were. They were going on a date!

Nicholas: I was wondering, if today, I could take you to Montreal Botanical Garden...

Fern squealed and jumped up and down with joy. A second date!

You: Sure, I would love to :)

Nicholas: I'll pick you up at 3 PM k?

You: Kk, see you!

Fern put down her phone and started dancing around the room. She completely forgot about her croissant. She was overwhelmed with joy. It seems like everything was amazing right now. She snapped back into reality and took her croissant out of the microwave.

She began eating her delicious breakfast before realizing. She needed an outfit! A perfect one. She then realized how boring and dull her closet was. Shopping time!

Fern headed to her room and picked a decent outfit to wear shopping. Nothing that extravagant, just plain black v-necked shirt with jeans. She took her black fanny pack and filled it with her wallet, her phone, and other necessities.
