My Lovely Stalker

Fern gasped. That one paragraph Nicholas said made her want to faint.

" Yes, I would love for you to be my boyfriend, " Fern said.

Nicholas got closer to Fern and put on a necklace he ordered. The necklace was gold with a heart pendant on it. There were their initials on it as well.

" Thank you so much, " Fern said. Her cheeks were super red already. No man has ever treated her like this. It might be cheesy but it's very sweet.

Nicholas leaned over and kissed Fern.

It felt magical, except it's not magic, it's real life. Everything was perfect. For Fern, her secret agent life, full of love triangles and mysteries of the missing robber, now all ended like a fairy tale. With a happy ending.

The kiss went on for about a minute. It was ecstatic.

And then everything became epic. Fireworks started blasting from the ground to the sky. The dark sky became bright. Cheers were heard from behind, people started clapping at them.

The fireworks ended and turned into a sentence.

I Love You

Just those three words, those three words melted Fern's heart.

" Nicholas, I'm glad I'm yours now, " Fern admitted.

As much as she gets annoyed by Nicholas, Nicholas is still her childhood best friend. He was the one that once listened to all her stories of life. He was the one that helped her whenever she's in trouble. He was the one that was always there for her. From the beginning, till the end. They may fight, they may have differences, but those fights bring them closer together. Those differences make them complete each other.

After that romantic moment, they headed back to their seat and continued eating. They had dessert. It was super awkward. Both their cheeks were blood red of embarrassment. No one really said anything since they're both lost in thought.

" Euh, " Fern and Nicholas said at the same time.

" Sorry, you first, " They said again.

They burst out laughing. Tears of laughter were already popping up in they're eyes.

" Oh my gosh, all our life we've never had such an awkward moment, " Fern said in between her laugh.

" Yeah! I know, " Nicholas said.

" Anyway, how was dessert? " Nicholas asked.

" It was amazing really, the chocolate in the chocolate cake was superior! " Fern complimented.

" Alright let's head home then, " Nicholas said. He held Fern's hands and they walked together towards the exit.

As they approached the exit, Fern saw a shadow running fastly away from her to behind a pillar.

Fern knows who that figure precisely is.

Andre Fern thought.

What would he be doing here? Is he... stalking me?

Fern was furious. After all they've been through together, he still doesn't trust her?! She's no baby. Why doesn't he trust her to be hanging out with a boy.

Andre, I need to speak to you when I'm home later, Fern thought.

" Fern, hello? " Nicholas said. He waved his hands in front of Fern's eyes.

" Yeah? What? " Fern asked. Completely clueless about the situation at that point.

" I've called you 5 times already, what's wrong? Are you ill? " Nicholas asked. He put his hands on Fern's forehead.

" No, I'm fine, I was just daydreaming about something, " Fern lied.

" Oh, okay then, come on, " Nicholas said. He held Fern's hands and they walked together to Nicholas's car.

Nicholas drove Fern back home. It took them about 20 minutes since there was light traffic.

When Fern arrived home, Nicholas accompanied her to her porch and kissed her forehead.

" Good night Fern, see you tomorrow at work! Love you, " Nicholas said. The last two words he said shyly.

" Night Nicholas, love you too, " Fern replied. She blushed and blew a kiss at Nicholas before he left.

Andre saw everything from the bedroom window. He was both sad and happy. Sad because he just officially lost the love of his life, and happy because now Fern's happy.

Fern inserted the keys to her house door and walked in. She took off her heels and put it on the shoe rack. She sighed and clenched her fist. Andre's doomed now.

Fern held her bag and raced to her room. She pushed the door open and slammed the door closed. She threw her bag to her bed and all her stuff came scattering out.

" Woah, chill out, what happened- " Andre said. He didn't finish his sentences when Fern slapped his face hard.

Andre performed a shocked face while holding his face which now was red.

" Don't you dare ask me what happened! You know EXACTLY what happened! " Fern yelled.

" How could you do this, like, seriously! After all we've been through together, this is ridiculous! " Fern screamed while pacing back and forth.

" Give me time to ex- " Andre said. But again, he didn't finish his sentences. Fern already cutted his words.

" Just SHUT UP! It's all clear! I'm not blind! I don't want to hear your voice, I don't want your explanation! In fact, I don't want to see your face ever again! Tomorrow you leave! I'm kicking you out! And WE ARE NEVER FRIENDS! " Fern yelled. She went to her bathroom and slammed the door before locking it.

Fern dropped herself to the ground and shredded tears. She couldn't believe Andre did this. If she didn't see it with her own eyes, she would not believe it. But unfortunately, she did. Andre broke her trust and now the damage is permanent.

Living without Andre will be miserable for Fern. Especially after spending so much money for him. Fern thought he had completely changed. But turns out nothing changed.

Fern got up and wiped her tears.

Time to move on

She took her pajamas and changed. She left the bathroom without looking at Andre. She lied on her bed and stared at the ceiling. She couldn't sleep.

" Night Fern, I know you're mad at me, but please give me time to explain, maybe tomorrow morning, " Andre mumbled. Then he dozed off to sleep.

" Whatever, what's important is tomorrow you're leaving, " Fern said to herself. After saying that, her eyes felt heavy and she fell to sleep.

The next morning, Fern woke up to the delicious smell of avocados. She woke up and still with her pajamas, she walked to the kitchen and saw Andre.

" What are you doing? " Fern asked sternly.

" I know you'll ask me to leave soon, and here's a goodbye meal, I made you your favorite avocado sandwich, I also made your favorite honey tea, hope you enjoy it, I have packed my bags, I'll leave now, bye, " Andre said. His expression turned from happy to sad.

He carried his bags and along with a few other bags.

" Bye Fern, before I go, I really want to thank you. I know I broke your trust, you don't want my explanation, that's fine, I'm just grateful that you were here when I needed you most, thanks so much, I will cherish our memories together, and I'll never forget you, you'll always be the love of my life, I love you, Fern, all the best for you, bye, " Andre said. He left with a sad face while carrying his bags.

Fern shut the door and locked it. She took his copy of her house keys. She didn't care anymore. Who knows where Andre is staying, but again, Fern couldn't care less.
