Levi's POV*

I stared at my dark ceiling while the sun rose. I couldn't sleep, insomnia has basically been my best friend for as long as I care to remember. I slipped off my bed, doing what people do in the morning. I did some paperwork until the sun had fully stepped out into the sky.

I then proceeded to wake up the rest of the lazy asses who couldn't wake themselves.

Namely, Yeager.

That brat, I swear, will never learn how to wake the fuck up.

I walked down to the dungeon where the brat spent his nights. I glared at him silently, envying his sleep.

Then I pulled his sheets off of him and smirked when he woke up startled at usual.

"S-sorry, Heichou!" He immediately apologised, flushing in embarrassment.

"Apologises aren't going to help you, brat." I stared down at him with a blank expression.

He frowned and murmured something. Typically, I wouldn't have caught that, but with these fucking ears I can hear everything, even Hanji's snoring multiple floors above me right now. I shuddered internally.

"I'm not a brat..."

"Yeah, you are and you will continue to be. Get moving, lazy ass." He seemed surprised I heard him, but I just walked off.

I was walking to the mess hall when I smelled the grease of the food from multiple halls away. It made me gag, so I just walked to Hanji's lab instead.

As typical, I found that mad scientist lying asleep over her desk. I walked to her, about to poke her when she suddenly sat upright, awake. I flinched instinctively, and she grinned.

"Jumpy, eh shorty?" I growled and showed her the fangs I saw this morning when I was brushing my teeth.

"Oh! You have fangs!" She pulled me closer holding my mouth open while she stared.

"Gah! What the hell, shitty glasses!"

"Oh, stop! I'll be done in a sec..." She pulled away and began writing hurriedly on her notepad. I brushed off my shirt, unsettled but not showing it.

"By the way, you should be at breakfast. Since you're part cat now, you are probably going to need even more energy than usual unless you want to pass out."

I grimaced. "Ugh, no. I could smell the grease from here."

"Enhanced olfactory senses! Amazing!" She seemed to vibrate with energy, and it pissed me off. "But really, you should be at breakfast."

"And you can shut up." With that note I walked out, my ears flattened against my hair. I closed the door to her lab, looking up at these new little nuisances that popped up on my head. I huffed, hoping Hanji would hurry up with an antidote.

Eren's POV*

I got dressed and brushed my teeth and hair, walking down to the mess hall for breakfast. I finished my food and stood up to find Levi, however unhappy the task made me. I didn't see him, so I figured he must be at Hanji's lab. I was walking there when I tripped on my own feet and nearly fell to the ground, but to make matters even worse, I fell on Levi.

I felt my face heating up as he scowled at me. Oh, great. "I'm so sorry-"

"Oh, shut up. Just don't be such a fucking clutz in the future." He brushed himself off and walked away stiffly. I pretended not to notice the blush on his face.

Levi's POV*

Training went similar to last, except Hanji didn't startle me. When I was done training, I just released my line and landed on the ground.

I heard Yeager groan and then a loud crashing noise. I stared up to find he had smashed face first into a tree.

He fell a few metres before I caught him. I had to carry him bridle style to Hanji's lab. Hanji looked wide eyed at me when I waltzed into her room carrying the brat.

"What happened?!" She ran up to me staring at Eren and checking his vitals while I put him on that raised platform.

"I was about to call him down to stop when he just groaned and collapsed, falling and hitting a tree. Is he alright?"

She listened to his heart and breathing, while running around the room and checking numerous things.

"Well?"

"Someone seems worried." She gave me a sly grin. I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, his body seems to be rejecting something, but his condition is stable for now."

Then I remembered something. "His line had just snapped..." I murmured under my breath, unconsciously.

"What?" Hanji looked at me.

"His line had just snapped when he fell." I looked at his gear and unhooked it, and dismembered it on Hanji's large desk.

Immediately a smell hit me: Poison. I covered my face with my cravat, fanning the air our the window with my hand. I saw that someone had thinned his lines so they would break. I scowled and put my cravat down. The air was mostly clean now.

"Levi?"

I looked at Hanji, who was looking at me with concern. "What, shit-glasses?"

"Don't go out murder someone because of this right now, we can confront people later."

"Tch, I'm not stupid. I wasn't going to do that." Hanji rolled her eyes.

Okay, maybe it did piss me off, how she knew that was what I had planned to do. But I saw that was a stupid idea now and decided against it.

I'll just kick someone's ass later.
