"Just follow me and run like your life depends on it." - Thomas

24th June 1995

As tea time was coming to a close on the twenty-fourth of June, Albus Dumbledore had risen from his seat and asked the champions to ascend to the quidditch pitch; everybody else due to following moments afterwards.

She had walked with Viktor, giving her uncle the cold-shoulder as she turned away from him; she remained mad at him - if he wasn't going to tell her why the task was a threat to her, then why should she say goodbye to him?

She had ignored the cheering and taunting from various students as they arrived beside the twenty-foot-high hedges that ran around the Quidditch pitch, the students had soon filed into the stands - leaving the four champions, alongside the judges, and a select few teachers on the grass below.

It had begun to grow dark, and she watched impatiently as the bars on Viktor's expensive watch clicked closer to the hour, "We are going to be patrolling the outside of the maze," Raven snapped her grey eyes up, looking towards where a handful of the Hogwarts Professors were standing before the quartet.

Professor McGonagall smiled at the group slightly - a strange feature on her wrinkled face, "If you get into difficulty and wish to be rescued, send red sparks into the air, and one of us will come and get you, do you understand?"

Raven felt her hand tremble slightly, grasping her pale fingers around her wand. Viktor was the first to let out a stiff nod, followed by Fleurs shaky "Yes," and Cedric's soft hum. McGonagall looked at her for confirmation, letting out a stern nod, Raven bit her lip.

One more task - how bad could it be?

"Off you go, then!" Bagman cheered, ushering the patrollers away.

Hagrid smiled kindly at the group, nodding before turning away and walking off to some point around the outside of the maze. Raven flinched as Bagman placed his wand to his throat muttering, "Sonorous." Causing his voice to magnify and echo around the stands painfully.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin! Let me remind you how the points currently stand!" Raven looked around the stands, droning out his voice as she studied each of the students' faces.

The Hogwarts band seemed to have congregated - for whatever reason Raven wasn't sure - Neveah was sat by Malia and Nathan, her parents on her other side. Malia gave her a very unsubtle wink, causing Raven to leg out a shaky snort. Her uncle Lee sat towards the end of the group, besides Mr Krum, his leg bouncing aimlessly.

Grey met blue, and Raven downcast her eyes, studying the grass below her feet, "- And in third place - Miss Fleur Delacour, of Beauxbatons Academy!" Raven looked up at the man who stood beside her, watching as he smiled proudly as the crowd cheered.
