tears that dry pretty
its an endless cycle
of yelling and hitting.
its the repeated cleaning
of the objects thrown and broken.
its the ongoing pain
that i feel in my chest each time.
is it worth it?
was this worth it?
these are questions
i think everytime.
so why can't i leave?
there is some unknown part
of my brain that keeps me from leaving.
maybe because my fantasies of you
becoming better and us becoming normal
keeps showing.
but the truth is, you'll never get better.
and this repetitive relationship
will never stop.
i know that much now as i slide
down the wall
with the punch hole in it.
tears stream down my face, the same tears
you'll come home to in a few hours and smile at.
just for the same sentence to slip out
your toxic lips while grinning eyes look
down on me.
"you always look pretty after you cry,"
