*Two Years Later*

Time has passed between you and I. Let me catch you up to speed to what has happened that last couple of years. When we left the hospital, Justin and I went back to our separate homes. He had to still deal with SymphonE after the breakup. For a name that brings music to your hears, she became bitter. She did what most artists do, create a whole album about her heartbreak. Don't tell Justin, but she murdered that album and blew him out the water. He did get some backlash from the fans for "doing her dirty." They never specified why they broke up to the public. The people just made their own assumptions and nobody was close to the truth.

Justin and I did make up after a few months. Did I ever tell Justin about my sexual and emotional thoughts towards Apollo? Yes. We agreed to put it all out on the table. He was mad and it was to be expected. I think the only reason he moved forward with our relationship because of the dirt that he tracked around. Some will say that our relationship is toxic, but I believe that we are two people trying to understand each other. For the past two years, I have grown to love and understand him more. We communicate good and laugh more. We maintain our own space as well. It gives us a chance to spend some time apart and come back to each other later. Now, do we find our way in each other's beds? Recently, we attended a movie premiere that Justin was in. He was playing the lead role of a drug lord and did a great job. He was nominated at the Oscar's for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He didn't get it, but he felt honored to receive the nomination. I was able to help other bodyguard's in training with my company, Built Different. Don't hate on my title. I know you judging me. Most of the celebrities reach out to me to hire a bodyguard. It helps pay the bills.

Lately, I have been spending some time with my daughter, Dakarai. She is about to attend middle school in the coming Fall. I am so proud of her. She has grown to be such a smart little girl. Justin's son, Sargon, is starting his first grade year in the Fall as well. Justin has been a frantic father trying to make sure he has everything in place for him. I told him to not worry, but I'm not gonna lie, I was the same way. Our kids know about us and so do their mothers. Whew! That was a hard pill for them to swallow. My ex was so sure that she knew about me being into men. She just said that to piss me off, but promised to keep it in the family. Justin's ex wasn't as upset because they had a conversation the night I got shot. How did I miss that conversation and wasn't told is beyond me.

I didn't have any other family to tell, but Justin did. He was so fucking nervous when it came to them. I would be too if you knew them bible thumping parents. Though, they were happy for Justin. That was new to both of us. Most black families would raise hell if you told them you like the same sex. Shit, I'm still not going to my mother's grave to have that conversation. I feel like she may wake up and slap the shit out of me. Yes, I had a fucked up childhood. Justin's brother promised to keep our relationship a secret. We both felt happy that those close to us knew and it wasn't a lot sneaking around. The only people who didn't know was the public. Some will say we owe it to them, but that ain't nobody's fucking business. We live for ourselves and no one else.

"Babe, I'm about to head out and meet Nessy." I said walking to the door.
"Ok, tell her I said wassup." He said in the kitchen.

As I walked out the door, I felt a tug at my wrist.

"Aye, you forgetting something?" Justin asked.
"Oh, right." I said giving him a kiss.
"Yeah that and your keys." He said holding them in my face.
"Shit, I forgot to grab them." I laughed.
"What are you in a rush for?" He asked looking me up and down.
"No reason. Just want to go see my goddaughter that's all." I said giving him another kiss.
"Uhuh. Be safe out there." He said.
"Aite, love you too." I said walking out the door.
