Tears gushed down like a heavy downpour, revealing the thunderous tragic days which she was trying to bury years ago....
Flashback...
A dark cloudless sky with bright stars gleamed throughout. Down, a shabby old house stood. The dim light glowed hiding the dingy look.
Tantrums inside the house were heard till the end of the street. It turned to giggles when Renuka entered the house. Her tired face turned cheerful as 5 years old Chandra and 6 years old Shylok embraced her. Lalita glared at them.
Lalita: I can't handle these both! Kadavule! You know how they were fighting?
As Renuka looked at them, they made innocent face.
Chandra: No amma.. he stole my pencil!
Shylok: Amma! My pencil lead broke. So I took his! He is blaming me always!
Chandra: He is lieing ma!
Shylok: Poda!
Shylok pushes Chandra down. Renuka catches him.
Renuka: Shylok! He will get hurt!
She raised her voice. Gradually she smiled as Shylok frowned sadly.Renuka: He is your little brother da. If he falls down he will cry la. You should protect and take care of him not fight with him. Ok?
Lalita: Yes! Another baby is going to arrive. Shylok will have more responsibilities! Even Chandra is going to be anna!
She tickled Chandra as he squirmed and laughed.
Shylok: Sorry ma...
Renuka: i will get a pencil for you.
Chandra: Its ok ma. Let him use this pencil. I have finished my homework.
He hands the pencil to Shylok.
Shylok: Sorry da Chanda!
He laughs.Chandra: Ammaaa! He is teasing me!
He whined.Lalita: Aahha! They started from first!
Renuka chuckled letting her hand into her small kitted bag.
Renuka: Here, for both of you!
She hands them a sliver tiffin box.
Chandra: Hayee!
Shylok: Mysorepa!
They begun eating it. Shylok took one piece and showed to Renuka.
Shylok: amma, this is for baby inside your tummy!
Renuka: Achoo! Chellam!
Chandra: I will also give!
Lalita and Renuka laughed. They feed Renuka happily. Little boys of their age were at the door.
Chandra: Amma, we will play with them!
Shylok: Come da!
Both of them ran outside.
Lalita: Who gave the sweet?
Renuka: Sukanga make it at home. She brought some for me.
She sighed keeping the bag down.
Lalita: I have prepared idly and chutney ma. You have it and rest.
