Scott's POV
“I wish I could buy you a drink…” I whispered to Esther as we stood at the bar. I stood behind her with my arms extended on either side to balance on the counter. She tilted her head so she could be looking at me, her long brown hair softly moving as she did.
“Someday you’ll be old enough.” She winked at me and I kissed her on the cheek. She was so sweet, and so good to me, but I just found myself in the same situation I had anytime I tried to date a girl.
I turned around to look for my friends as Esther drank her drink. Avi and Kevin were talking to a couple of contestants that had come with us over to the corner, their drinks in hand as well. I was exceedingly jealous, but there wasn’t any getting around it unless I snuck something in.
“I’m going to check on Kirstie, I’ll be back.” I whispered to Esther and she tilted her head back again to kiss me on the lips.
“Hurry back.” She whispered and I kissed her again before taking off.
I looked around and indeed found Kirstie, but she was wrapped up in a conversation with a guy from the group the Yellow Jackets and she looked very into it, so I kept walking in hopes of finding Mitch. Eventually I did, but when I did my stomach dropped to the floor.
Mitch was in a hallway with a boy I didn’t recognize and they were talking intimately. He had his fingers tracing the fabric of the boy’s sweatshirt and he kept his voice low as they spoke. The boy had Mitch giggling in such a flirtatious way and I felt jealousy rise up into my throat. I kept watching anyway because I couldn’t bring myself to tear my gaze away from him.
The boy tilted his head towards the exit and Mitch took a second, and then smirked and nodded. They started to walk out together and the boy wrapped his arm around Mitch’s shoulders as they walked. I tried to catch my breath, but I had to get out of there before I freaked out. I turned around and passed Kirstie as I flew out the exit to the back parking lot, taking in a deep breath of the cool Los Angeles air as I got outside.
One minute later, that same door opened and Kirstie started coming towards me with a worried look on her face. I leaned on the ledge wall and looked down to the ground from two stories up.
“What happened?” She asked seriously, as if she already knew.
“Did Esther see me come out here?”
Kirstie shook her head.
I started to breathe faster and she rubbed her hands on my chest. “Breathe.” She instructed.
I wrapped my arms tightly around her and dug my face into her shoulder. She made a sympathetic noise and held me close as I shut my eyes and tried to calm myself down.

Mitch POV
Bryan was cute, but he was uninteresting. We made out for a while and then he told me he had to leave before his curfew. It took everything in my power not to roll my damn eyes at him.
The good news was, I got my mind off of Scott for the most part, that was until afterwards when I was alone again. I laid in my hotel bed and stared at the ceiling and thought about what he could possibly be doing, but it also made me sick to think about it.
