I looked up at the gigantic brown mansion. How in the Hell did they even manage to pay for it? It was though she had married into the mafia. Oh, crap! She's looking at me. I could see her pale face staring down from the two story window. Her dyed black hair outlined her heart shaped face. She seemed to be in a bedroom. She saw me look at her and slowly closed the blinds. Hm, That's a nice start. Unlike last time, I thought. How in the world was I supposed to know she was married again. I only found out a week ago. But it was only normal since we never spoke much. I haven't seen my mother since I was five. It wasn't like we actually knew one another.
I got out of my silver Buik Enclave and went to the back. I pulled out my two suitcases with wheels and a dufflebag. The suitcases held my clothing and personal hygiene while the duffle held everything from my books to my art utensils. The stairs to the doorway seemed to be miles up. Atleast that was how it felt lugging up my stuff. She opened the door just as I raised my hand to knock on it. Her frown dissappeared as she grinned at me. I wasn't fooled.
"Sapphire, Oh my darling, it's been so long." She sighed.
"Yeah, ten years actually." I didn't smile back.
Her smile faltered and she gestured to someone behind her. A man in a black suit came marching forward and picked my bags up with ease. He was bald and had the body of a pro wrestler or fighter. "Thomas here will show you to your room. Then, when your settled in we'll have dinner and catch up." She din't take another glance at me when she clicked clacked away.
Even after knowing her nature through skype this was still a shock. I mean, I am her only child after all. I looked at Thomas but he took no notice and began to walk away. Knowing how easy it was to get lost in a house this big, I followed.
We literally walked through maze after maze in this house. How in the hell am I supposed to live here? There's no way I could find the bathroom here even in daylight. Seeming as though he wa reading my mind, Thomas spoke, "Don't worry, You'll have your own restroom." Then continued walking.
I frowned. Okay, Thanks for the update. He smiled.
The dorr to my room seemed small. Thomas had to bend over to make it through the doorway. He grunted as he tossed my bags on the bed. Not saying anything he left the room. The room wasn't small, but it wasn't big either. It was most likely ten foot eight or less. The floor was tiled with dark marble. The bed was a nice regular size and was positioned of to the right of the room. Near its feet was the door to the bathroom. The loght was already on so I could see everything clearly. There was a dresser beside the bed and after that was a small desk that had a mirror attached. It was framed with the same oak as the door. So was the bed's. There was a nice big window right across from those but had literally know way of opening.
What the-? What was I suppossed to do if I got hot? Oh well, I could just drench myself in cold water. I went to my suicases and began to transfer my items from there to the dresser. Well, could have been worse. I could have slept in the attic.
