Just Another Experiment

Chapter Five

Training went by easily after lunch. We are back in the dormitory. We are on my bed. Trance is sitting on my right and Pride is sitting on my left. Erin is sitting beside Pride. We sit there is silent. It makes me think I am in Liberal again. We would stand still and be quiet. I shake the thought out of my head.

    I stand up. I don't know how this popped in my head. I smile and face them. "Who wants a tattoo?" I look at all of them. They all smile.

    It takes us a while to find the tattoo parlor. I find the book of what tattoos you could get. I find the owl that was on Dare's wrist. I look at the caption below it. It says that this tattoo stands for the people who pay attention to people and could see people's strengths. Just like why an owl has wide eyes. It also says who ever gets this tattoo, that is usually one of their personalities. Maybe I will get one.

    I keep searching through it. I find a one with a cat that means balance and a bat that means night vision. I am deciding to get those three tattoos. I flip a couple more pages. I freeze. My eyes come upon a tattoo of Liberal and the tattoo of Stalwart. Maybe I will get those as well.

    Someone places their hand on my shoulder. "Want a tattoo?" It is a young lady that wears a black dress. She looks like she is about 3 years older than I am. I nodd. "Can I get an owl, a cat, a bat, the Stalwart sign, and..." I hesitate. "And a Liberal sign." I finally say. She smiles. "Lets get started then."

    My shoulders, wrist, collarbone, and arm sting. I got the owl on my collarbone, the cat on my left arm, the bat on my right wrist, the Stalwart sign on my left shoulder, and the Liberal sign on the right shoulder.

    Trance, Pride, and Erin stare at me. Trance is shaking my head. "What?" I ask while shrugging. "I can't believe you got five tattoos. In fact I can't believe you even got a tattoo." Trance says. His eyes widen on the word five tattoos. I shrug. "They describe me. The cat tattoo means balance, the bat means night vision, the owl means you pay attention to people and their strengths, the Stalwart cause I am in there faction now,and the Liberal cause that was my old faction." They stare at me.

    After a while we stopped in front of the hair salon. I got red highlights and got my hair shortened to my shoulders. We also bought some new outfits as well. We walk into the dormitory. Everyone stares at us with wide eyes. Some people even had their mouths wide open. I look in the middle of the room. Standing there is Dare. He has his eyebrows up and his eyes are widen. I look at Trance, then Pride, then Erin. We all quickly go to our bunks and sit there. We all look back at Dare. "As I was saying. I want all of you to get your sleep if you want to win tomorrow." He smiles. "If one of you guys win. No one ever has won the first day so you guys are going to need the strength." He clears his throat. He quickly leaves the room. Before he does, I could see his eyes move in my direction before he leaves.

    We stand there in silent at first. Then the guy named Jack moves to the middle of the room. He smiles. "Ok. Before anyone can say anything, my name is Jack. And lets just say..." He looks around the room and smirks. "All of you cowards are going to lose tomorrow except for me so why don't all of you guys just get your butts out of this place while you still have the chance." he starts laughing. Minzie laughs as well. I squeeze my hand into a fist. I storm up to Jack. "So. You are the one who was making fun of me during training." I squeeze my hand into a fist so hard my nails are digging into my palm. "Just because you think you are from Rational and you think you are better than us..." I push his shoulder. "Doesn't mean you are." He just stares at me. I cross my arms.

    He smiles. I see his hand forming into a fist. That was the only warning I had. The next thing I knew he punches my in the jaw. I fall to the floor holding my jaw. Jack and Minzie are laughing. I get up and punch Jack in his ribs as hard as I could. He covers his ribs. He is gasping for air. Minzie Kicks me in the side and I fall to the floor. I am coughing. Pride runs to my side. I look up. Trance and Erin look angry-especially Trance.

    Pride helps me up. She tries to lead me to my bunk. I shake my head. "I got this." I smile at her. I turn around and kick Minzie in her ribs. I punch her in the jaw. She falls to the floor. Jack is still holding his ribs. I walk to my bunk keeping my head held high. I sit down on my bed. My hands are still in a fist. I take a deep breathe. Jack helps Minzie to her bunk. She is holding her jaw and her ribs. "That was.." Trance doesn't finishes. Dare walks in. A girl is behind him. She was a transfer from Ethical. She looks worried. She must have gotten him when we started fighting. Dare looks around. He looks at Minzie which has a bloody mouth, to Jack which has his hand still clutching his ribs. Then his eyes flick to mine. He gives me a glare. "Jack, Minzie, and Lynne. Now." He voice is steady but his body is tense. I get up and go to him. He keeps the door open for Minzie, Jack, and I.

    We wait in the hallways for us to be scolded at. Minzie and Jack give me glares. "You are going to pay for this Stiff." Jack says. He takes a step toward. Minzie’s mouth stopped bleeding. She cracks her knuckles.

    Jack gives me another glare. He tries to punch me in the jaw but I block it. Minzie kicks my back. I groan while falling to the floor. Jack kicks me in the jaw while Minzie kicks me in the stomach. I groan some more. I block the next kick. I get up. I back away from them. They creep closer. I throw my hands to my face but before I could, Jack punches me in the jaw. Black appears at the edge of my eyes. My eyes are shutting. I fall to the floor. My eyes shut and that is all I could remember.
