Natsu's POV

A necklace? No. She doesn't really wear any.

A NEW KEY! well..no...the closest store is in Hargeon...I should take her back there some day.

I sigh.

All I got is some pink and yellow roses along with some vanilla chocolate covered strawberries. I still need a gift. WHY IS THIS SO HARD???

Maybe she wants a book? I should of brought Levy...

Wait A MINUTE! What day is it today??

"Umm..excuse me..ma'am?" I ask shyly.

"Oh, Mr. Dragneel, how may I help you?" She answered.

"Would you mind telling me what today is?"

"It's June 30th, sir!" She smiles.

"Oh okay, thank you!" I say

Tomorrow is Lucy's birthday! I have to get TWO gifts and plan a birthday party for her at the guild! She turns 18 now...(pretend this is true :3)

I catch a familiar scent far away. It seems so familiar yet I don't know...

I decide to follow it and it leads me to a city right beside Magnolia. By the time I reach it, It is. already 4 p.m.

"Sorry, Luce..I'll be back soon I promise!"

I stop at a forest.

What?

I look around until light hits my eye.

"Hey! Stop..I'm going to be blind!" I say, covering my eyes.

I approach it and almost can't believe it myself.

No way. REALLY??? I found Lucy's birthday gift!

It's night by now and I'm running back home to Lucy's apartment, stopping at a store in the city I was just in. I got her necklace after all. I had it customized too!

"So how do you want it?"

"OH I KNOW! make a fire symbol and a star. Both will be wrapped around with a scarf that is exactly like mine!"

"Okay, come back tomorrow and it'll be done!"

"WHAT?! Nope. Now. I need it now."

"But sir I- OKAY! OKAY! PLEASE DON'T BURN ME!! IM SORRY! PLEASE!"

"hehe, see? That's better!"

I might have gone a little overboard...but hey! I now have a gift right?

I reach Lucy's apartment building and climb up to her window. Lucy is sitting on her desk, all lights are turned off, just her desk lamp is on and she's writing in her diary I'm guessing.

I open the window and jump in.

"LUCE! HE-"

"KYAAAAAA!"

She Lucy kicks me and her birthday gift almost slips out of my pocket...good thank mavis it didn't. The flowers and strawberries were thrown safely onto her bed. Phew. Her gift of apology is in my hand still.

"N-Natsu? You scared me! I thought it was some intruder...sorry. ACTUALLY NO I'M NOT SORRY! QUIT BARGING IN TO M-mm!!MMMMM!!!"

I covered her mouth..she talks too much...

"Shhhh! Let me speak! You talk too much..." I say

I reach for the flowers and strawberries and give them to her. She smiles as she smells the flowers then looks back at me.

"Hey uh..Luce? Look I'm really sorry about everything I said that day. Like I said, it was out of anger. I couldn't bare seeing you hurt. You know I don't like it. I protect you for a reason. I'm sorry I left you alone for a year. I promise I won't do that to you again. I should of considered your feelings. I'm sorry about your dad...and Aquarius. Luce, I'm sorry for barging in to your apartment. I just love your company. Back at home it's quiet and boring. I come here cause even though you Lucy kick me, your presence is relaxing and lovely! That and your place isn't all trashed up and you got food and-"

Lucy looks at me, raising an eyebrow.

"Y-Yeah sorry...the point is that I'm sorry for everything I did. It's just that I grew a...soft...spot...for you, Luce.." I look down afraid of what her reaction may be.

"W-What do you m-mean?" She asks.

AND THEY SAY I'M THE DENSE ONE???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

"That I maybe...sorta...kinda.."

I sigh.

"I love you, Luce...and would you like to be my girlfriend?..." I say. I give myself a mental facepalm. I said it so awkward!

I hear silent sobs and I shoot my head back up.

"Luce?! Why are you crying, sorry if I-"

Lucy ran up to me and hugged me tight, her arms around my neck, pulling me down towards her. How do I say this? I love it. It isn't like the one-armed hugs I'm used to giving her, this is way better.

I mentally chuckle to myself, she's shorter than me.

"No, no, it's fine. It's just that I didn't think you actually loved me!" She said.

I pull back and place my hands on her shoulders. My eyes wide.

"Y-You mean..."

"Yeah! I love you too! And yes I would love to be your girlfriend!"

I pick her up and swing her around.

"I got one more thing for you, Luce!" I say, setting her back down.

She sits on her bed as I do the same. I take out the box from my pocket. Her birthday gift almost falling down but thank mavis it didn't!

"What is this? You shouldn't have.." Lucy said.

"Opening it!"I smile, criss-crossing my legs on her bed as I put my hands between them.

She opens the box to reveal the necklace that I so politely had asked the man for...hehe...

"NATSU!" she yells, making me flinch.

"Sorry! But I love it! Thank you! Mind putting it on please?"

I chuckle and put it on her.

"Thank you, Na- MY STRAWBERRIES!!"

"You took too long. Here, have the last one."

"THERE WERE 20 HOW CAN YOU EAT THEM ALL IN LESS THAN A SECOND?"

"Simple. Because I'm Natsu Dragneel." I shrug.
