Hey guys! This whole chapter is prose too. Enjoy!
Question of the day: Do you have a favourite hobby?
Jimin had managed to keep a tight lid on his activities for a week. A whole week. That was how long he had lasted before messing things up. After making his decision to look through (read: stalk) Yoongi's account, he had gone through almost half of the gallery when he had time to spare. He even kept up with it as best as he could without following Yoongi. He wasn't about to have his ex ask him why he suddenly followed him on social media.
While Jimin could just make another account and follow Yoongi, he thought that was a step too far and if he were to be honest, it seemed like too much work. So, he looked through Yoongi's pictures in an effort to find out a little about his life. It had worked, in a way. As Jimin went further back through Yoongi's account, he could see how his ex-boyfriend had grown. Not necessarily personality wise – though he could tell that Yoongi had gained some confidence over the years – but Jimin could see the maturity taking over the other man.
Yoongi looked different from when Jimin had last seen him. He seemed to steadily grow healthier and happier in the pictures and Jimin was glad. He remembered how insecure Yoongi had been – how they both had been – and how he had wished his boyfriend knew how talented and intelligent he was. As much as Taehyung and Jimin had complimented his abilities, he had always just smiled and waved them off, thinking those to just be words said out of requirement. Jimin hoped Yoongi knew how great he was now that they were older and doing what they loved.
He still couldn't believe that they worked at the same company and had mutual friends. It had taken a lot of energy not to tell Hoseok or Jungkook about it while he was at work. He was just left to looking at his ex-boyfriend's Instagram.
Jimin hadn't gone through all of the photos. He had only reached a few months back when he made his mistake. He had been making dinner; instant ramen because he had been tired and just wanted something to eat before bed. As he waited for the water to boil, he scrolled through Yoongi's account. He had been looking at a picture of Yoongi in his studio and his thumb hovered over the screen, ready to continue moving. Suddenly, the timer he had set went off and he jumped, his phone slipping in his grasp. He had fumbled to catch the device, and, in his haste, the screen had been double tapped.
Which meant he liked Yoongi's picture.
From eight months ago.
Jimin wanted to cry.
After a few seconds where he was sure he had stopped breathing, Jimin inhaled and promptly started to panic. He didn't know what to do. How was Yoongi going to react to seeing that notification? Not only would it prove that Jimin had found him again, it would also prove that instead of saying something or ignoring Yoongi like a normal person, Jimin had gone ahead and stalked his account.
He quickly came out of the Instagram app and went to call the first person he could think of.
"Hello, my beautiful soulmate!"
"Tae, I need you to come over."
There was a brief pause before Taehyung answered, "What happened? Are you hurt?"
"I'll explain everything later...if you're coming."
"What the hell, Chim? Of course, I'm coming. I'll be over soon with some snacks. We're having a sleepover."
Before Jimin could tease Taehyung about them being too old for sleepovers, the line went dead and he smiled. He could always count on Tae when he needed him.
Jimin had the most amazing best friend in the world. Of course, this fact was proven time and time again, but as he watched the other man enter his apartment with a huge bag and his Pomeranian following behind, Jimin couldn't help but think it again. It probably wouldn't be the last time either.
