Yoongi really was distracted. He had come to work, forgetting about the changes to the security system and that his password had changed. He locked himself out as a result and like the good friend he was, Namjoon laughed at him when he finally arrived. It wasn't Yoongi's fault. If anything, Jimin was to blame. He had been caught up in his thoughts about the younger man and had been so all morning.
He had tripped while putting on his pants, had spilled coffee on his shirt so he had to change and lastly, nearly left his keys in his apartment. Needless to say, getting ready had been a bitch and now, locking himself out of the genius lab was the icing on the cake. As he sat in Namjoon's studio, waiting for a technician to reset his lock, he found his mind wandering again. He thought about his relationship with Jimin and where he wanted to take it.
They were older and while he still felt nostalgic, he knew better than to expect things to be the same as when they were in high school. For one thing, they didn't have to watch out for their parents when doing something they weren't supposed to. They had their own places now and didn't need permission to go anywhere.
They had jobs, well-paying jobs that allowed them to be able to afford simple luxuries. No taking each other out for simple, cheap dates because they needed money from their parents. Of course, there was nothing wrong with those kinds of dates. When things were too over the top, it could be stifling, and people tended to show them true themselves when they were more comfortable. Yoongi didn't grow up with a lot of money and he knew the value of the simple things in life.
He knew Jimin appreciated them as well and he could only hope that it was the same after so many years. The younger man hadn't seemed to change when Yoongi had spoken to him in person and if he were to be honest, he found it relieving. He hadn't wanted to doubt Jimin and in truth, he didn't actually think that the dancer would change for the worse. Yoongi just didn't know what could have happened to Jimin in the last six years and he didn't want to think that those experiences would make him bad.
With that being said, Yoongi really just wanted to give their relationship a good start. Nothing too fancy. Nothing too overbearing. Just them spending time together and getting to know each other again. Jimin was a naturally affectionate person and liked to receive similar treatment in return. Other people would call him clingy, but Yoongi knew that Jimin just liked to be spoiled. He loved knowing that someone was really trying to get closer to him. And just like that, an idea came to mind.
"Hyung."
Yoongi looked up, "Hm?"
"They fixed the keypad. You can go ahead and try now."
"Oh, thanks."
Yoongi got up and gathered his things before leaving Namjoon's studio.
"Be careful now."
Yoongi heard Namjoon's snickers as he flipped him off over his shoulder. He went down the hall to his own studio and luckily, the door opened when he pressed in the correct code. He settled down and got ready to work.
