Kabanata 9

"Hi, Zhianela!" Zhyner greeted.

I was on my way on the library the next day when he just jumped in front of me. Napaatras ako kaagad dahil say gulat. The automatic thought of him with Dylan everywhere hits me so I roamed my eyes around to find him. Pero wala siya at mag-isa lang ni Zhyner.

He tilted his head while his both hands were on his back, hiding something. "Sino hanap mo? Nandito ako!"

I smiled at bit. "Uhm.. anong kailangan mo?"

"May ibibigay kasi ako sayo." he said and smirked. Ang dalawang kamay niya'y nasa likuran, tila may itinatago.

Tumaas ang dalawang kilay ko at hinintay ang mga sumunod na sasabihin niya.

He chuckled. "Sinubukan ko kay Issa kaso allergic raw siya. Sabi niya sayo ko raw ibigay.."

"Ano ba 'yan?"

He pulled out something from his back.

Bumulaga sa harapan ko ang puting kuting na hawak niya. It was sitting perfectly on his both hands. The little kitten looked behaved and very little. Asul ang mata nito at mukhang malinis nga. I'm not sure but I think it has a unique breed, too. I'm not familiar with any breeds or kinds of cat but I'm sure this is not a stray cat.

Kumunot ang noo ko. "Did you just bring kitten in school, Zhyner?"

"I just bought it this morning." tumawa siya. "Would you mind if you hold it a while for me? Saglit lang 'to! Kukunin ko din mamaya."

A handsome looking and very bulky guy, holding a little kitten with his both gentle hands. Ngumuso ako at hindi maiwasang matawa sa kaniya. I didn't know he was also soft for animals. Well, not bad though..

Tumango ako. "Okay.. I'll hold it for you."

Bakas ang tuwa sa mukha niya dahil doon. Nilahad ko ang dalawang kamay ko. Dahan dahan niya namang inilipat doon ang kuting. The cat was soft and warm. I felt it.

I tilted my head and stared at it. I wasn't very soft when it comes to animals, I don't even had a pet before. But out of the sudden, I felt fine and warm hearted. Natuwa naman ako kahit papaano.

"Hindi naman 'yan nangangagat kaya h'wag kang matakot. She's kind.."

"Oh, this is a she?"

Hinaplos ko ang ulo nito. Pumikit siya at dinama ang paghaplos ko sa ulo niya. I smiled because of how it liked as I patted her.

"Yeah. She's Babe."

Umangat ang tingin ko. "Babe?"

He smirked. "Yes, Babe.."

I nodded and looked at the cat instead.

Umalis na din siya ilang segundo pa. Tuluyan na akong pumasok sa library. The librarian saw me and the little kitten on my hand. She didn't say a thing but I saw her creeping secretly to take a look at my cat.

The cat wasn't noisy, too. I think she's just wandering her eyes around, too. Habang naghahanap ako ng libro'y hinahaplos ko ang buhok niya. She would just find my hand if I stopped petting her.

Ngumuso ako nang hindi ko nakita ang gusto kong libro. The cooking book. I sighed.

The cat made a small noise. Ngumisi ako at hinaplos ang ulo niya. "I guess we'll just stick on a literature book today.."

May kaunting simangot sa labi ko habang naglalakad pabalik sa lamesa ko bitbit ang pusa sa ibabaw ng isang librong napili kong basahin ngayon. It was connected to my subject so might as well have a advanced reading now. Nandito din naman ako, mabuti nang may mapala.
