Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny went to King's Cross. After Platform 9 3/4 , they met Neville, Luna and Hannah."Nice, so you guys are also going huh?" Hannah cheerfully said, hugging Neville. They had gotten together after the war. Luna was dreamily staring at Ginny. (I wonder why)
Everyone was looking at them, which was making Harry very uncomfortable. "Why do people look?" He mumbled to himself.
He really didn't want more attention as he already did get a lot of it. It was annoying and it needed to stop. People asking for his autographs... He had only given one autograph in his entire life. And that was for Collin.
He attended Collin's funeral after the war and had signed a photo of him which Collin had taken a long time ago. He then placed that signed photo carefully next to his tombstone. It was the first and the last autograph he had given.
"Hey there, mister!" A little girl called out to him and he came back to his senses. He looked at the little girl. "Can you please sign this for me?" She said, giving him a page of her book.
Harry was NOT in a mood to do this, nor to make the girl cry. What could he do? The girl hadn't given him a quill. His friends were watching him. They all had signed her book page.
"I am sorry, I don't have a quill." He said. The girl was about to protest when someone called, "Hey, look! The Malfoys!" Harry's anger started to boil for a reason.
Malfoy and his Parents were there. Ignoring everyone and happily talking to each other. He said a quick goodbye and quickly went to the train. He seemed pretty different that he usually is. Like, more friendly. He heard a gang of random boys snigger. Once Malfoy's family was out of sight, everyone went on about their day.
Sure Harry hated Malfoy with all his heart. But this was just unfair. Harry had to admit that because of Malfoy and his mother, he was alive to this day. And how, the family did not fight in the end of the Battle of Hogwarts but fled after their son was safe with them.
They didn't deserve all this attention. Those boys Harry heard earlier were probably planning something against Malfoy. He doesn't know why he cares but he hopes that they will be better in the future.
"Come on, Harry." Ginny said, and she took his hand and dragged him to the train.
------
Once Draco was in the train, he had thankfully found an empty compartment and took sighed in relief as he sat down. Being Draco Malfoy, he was exceptionally lonely and was always to be suspected. (get the reference?)
It was not his fault. It was all Voldemort's. Him and his family are now free. He swore he had never felt hate towards Voldemort after his death that much. It was amazing to know that Potter had defeated the dark lord.
ONLY because he wanted to be free. He wanted his family to be safe. And he didn't and doesn't care about anything else. And he used the term "Voldemort" as much as he could now that he was dead.
And now, here he was, sitting in the compartment, he can't believe his friends didn't come. Well he doesn't need anyone anyways, he can do it all on his own.
Suddenly, there were noises and there he saw, the heroes everyone loved, Potter and his stupid gang. He felt his stomach twist for some reason and his heart fluttered just a little. He didn't know why.
The compartment door opened, it was Weasley. They all froze staring at Draco. He got uncomfortable every second. "What do you guys want? Have you never seen an ordinary person sitting in a compartment before?" He snapped, but no hatred was in his voice. He never knew that Potter had such green eyes.
------
Harry had never known how much Draco's grey eyes, glittered like silver. And he felt his heart flutter at the sight. Why did that happen? He wasn't having feelings for Malfoy was he?
"Well, we were just checking for an empty compartment Malfoy." Ron replied. "Well then, obviously this one isn't available." He said.
Hermione sighed. "But, this is the only compartment which has enough space for atleast four of us!" She said. "The other three already found one but there was someone in it."
"Why can't you just sit with your fans? Why me?" Malfoy asked.
"Because we don't want anyone making a huge fuss." Harry replied "Fans can be annoying you know, we'll not talk to each other. Just let us in."
Draco groaned in annoyance and then said. "Fine, take my personal space as always." Harry felt a teeny weeny twinge of guilt but ignored that and sat down with others.
-------
They all were sitting in an akward silence till the rest of the journey. Well, for a while. After a while of the akward silence, the four started talking to each other. Draco had to admit, he envied Potter's friendship a lot. He felt jealous as the time went by and they were making jokes and having small talks. Draco felt lonelier than ever. Like he cared.
In the great hall.
As the students were sitting down, Professor McGonagall said, "Students who are repeating their seventh year may sit on any table they want. A lot of things have changed and I will explain everything. But first, tuck in!"
Students quickly settled themselves down and as Potter and his gang had entered, cheers and claps arose and McGonagall quickly made everyone reassemble.
When it was Draco's turn, he was starting regretting his desicion as several eyes looked at him and people started whispering as he passed them. He hesitantly sat down at the Slytherin table, looking for any signs of them not wanting him to be there, but he saw none, and was quietly welcomed nevertheless.
No, he thought, you won't give up. You will show them.
Welp, this chapter was supposed to have a lot more stuff, but apparently, I didn't want the chapter to be too big so I have to break it into parts.
Anyways, hope you enjoyed!
STAY SAFE!
