Don't Rush It

Chase's Pov:

We had to take 3 separate cars to dinner and sadly, Charli and I ended up not being in the same car.

On the way to the restaurant Jack was telling us that Sienna, the girl he was talking to was going to meet us for dinner as well.

"Anyone else who doesn't live in the house coming?" I inquired, just curious.

"Yea Ant and Avani are gonna come!" Thomas told us. "And I'm pretty sure Dixie invited Noah."

"Oh bet."

Jack turned to me and quietly, so that no one else heard he asked me: "so you and Charli are good now?"

"Good? We're great bro." I smiled as I thought about her.  "I think last time we dated it was kind of a right person, wrong time situation. I loved her but I was immature, and I think quarantine pretty much changed everyone."

"Yea that makes sense," Jack agreed as we pulled up to the restaurant.

We hopped out of the car and when we got inside we saw that everyone else was already there.

Because of the pandemic, there could only be 5 people to a table so there were people from our group spread out at about 4 different tables.

I scanned the room and saw that the table Charli was sitting at was full, but there was an empty booth next to her table.

Alex, Kouvr, Mia, Thomas and I sat at the booth together. What's better than fifth wheeling? I thought.

It was okay though because we were close to Charli's table and i could still talk to her.

I looked up from the menu I was reading to see Avani, who was sitting at Charli's table, looking at me weird.

Ever since the Nessa thing Avani had always kind of had a problem with me. I just looked away and decided not to think anything of it.

I lightly tapped Charli's shoulder so that she turned and looked at me. When she saw it was me a warm smile spread across her face.

She took my hand from her shoulder and kissed it 3 times before letting go.

We all ordered, ate, and as people finished eating we walked around and socialized with the people from other tables (that might have been against the restaurant rules but we didn't care)

Someone had apparently notified some gossip channel that we were at the restaurant because when we came out, reporters with cameras were trying to ask us questions.

I was holding Charli's hand as we walked through the restaurant doors, but quickly dropped it when I saw the cameras.

It was sad it had to be this way. If it were up to me I'd want the whole world to know that Charli was mine. But then again I didn't want all the judgment we would get.

This time we beat the other cars home so I went upstairs to my room and made a few tik toks while I waited for Charli.

Charli's Pov:

When I was in the car on the way home Avani told me something about Chase that made me a little bit concerned.
