Thinking about you

Charli's Pov:

I woke up in the morning realizing I'd had a dream about chase.

In the dream Chase came to Connecticut to surprise me, and to ask me to be his girlfriend again.

It was completely unrealistic and probably wouldn't happen, but the fact that I'd dreamt about him just meant that chase was on my mind whether I knew it consciously or not.

I would never admit it to anyone but although I hadn't seen chase for months, I still cared so much about him.

I tried to shake the thought of chase out of my mind.

I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom where I brushed my teeth and started my skin care routine.

I quickly flat ironed my hair and threw on my sweatshirt from my sweet 16 and some grey sweats, then I skipped down the hall to Dixie's room.

The door was closed so I knocked first, which was something that she did not know how to do.

"Come in!" called Dixie from the other side of the door.

I pushed open the door to see Dixie laying in her bed scrolling through her ig timeline.

"Wanna go get Dunkin?" I questioned, sitting on the bed next to Dixie.

"Not unless you tell me what happened with Hudson yesterday." She smirked.

"Fine." Rolling my eyes, I lie down next to her and stare up at the ceiling. "There's not much to the story... he just called to see how I was doing."

"But that's not what I wanted you to tell me, char." Dixie turned on her side to look at me. "You really miss him don't you."

"Yes." I sighed. "But it's embarrassing that I do because he cheated. I don't know I just feel like if we were to get back together I just wouldn't be respecting myself."

"Who says you have to get back together?" Dixie questioned. "You could be friends. Or friends with benefits." She laughed.

"Benefits!?" I squinted my eyes at her. "I'm not losing my virginity to a friend with benefits!" I chuckled.

"Yeah you're right, probably not the best idea" she laughed along with me. "But you do wanna lose it to cha-" Dixie was interrupted by our dad walking into the room. We both turned and smiled at him innocently.

"What are you girls up to?" He questioned. "I heard someone might need a ride to Dunkin?"

"Yes please!" I exclaimed, jumping up and grabbing my phone. "C'mon Dix" I called as I followed my dad down the hallway and then down the stairs to the front door.

When we returned home with our coffee and donuts, I went up to my room and turned on Phineas and Ferb while I cleaned and packed for my trip.

As I was zipping up my suitcase Dixie barged through my closed door for the millionth time.

"Char say hi to Addi and Avani!" She said, turning her phone around so they could see me.

"Hi babiesss!" I exclaimed. "I'm so excited to see you!!"

I talked with Addi, Avani and Dixie for a little while until Dixie left my room to talk to them alone again.

Then I went on tik tok and learned some dances to film later.

Later on that day I went to my hometown dance studio for a couple hours to practice, and when I got home I went to bed.

The next morning I woke up and was super excited when I remembered that today was the day I got to see chase.

"GIRLSSSS" my mom called from downstairs. "GET UP WE'RE GONNA DROP YOU TWO OFF AT THE AIRPORT!"

I jump out of bed and quickly ran to the bathroom where Dixie and I both brushed our teeth and did our hair.

Then I ran back to my room to grab my suitcase and ran downstairs.

"Someone's excited!" Laughed my dad, who was standing by the door waiting for us.

"I can't wait to see all my friends!" I confirmed, a huge smile spreading across my face.

Dixie came down the stairs slowly, looking exhausted, dragging her suitcase down after her with a thump on each step.

"All right let's go!" Said my mom, picking up the keys and walking through the front door which my dad held open for us.

We got out of the car at the airport and got our suitcases out of the trunk.

"Alright girls we'll be down there in a week" said my mom.

"Don't get into any trouble until we get there" my dad winked.

"Bye, mom! Bye dad!" I said, giving them each a hug.

Dixie gave them their goodbye hugs as well and then I followed her through the sliding doors into the airport.

When we sat down at our gate I looked at my phone and saw that I had another text from chase.

Chase: on your way yet? I'm so excited to see youu

I'm not gonna lie I got butterflies reading the message.

I looked over at Dixie. She had her AirPods in and was nearly asleep. I texted chase back:

At the gate right now! Got anything special planned for when I get there? ;)

I sent the text, and to my surprise only regretted it a tiny bit.

I lightly shook Dixie's shoulder when it was time to board. We both stood up and walked through the tunnel onto the plane.

As we were about to take off, the flight attendant instructed us to put our phones in airplane mode.

Before I did I checked my messages to see if chase had responded yet. He hadn't.

I put my phone into airplane mode, put my hood on, and tried to fall asleep.
