The Confrontation (Part 4)

Everyone filed into class, Lan QiRen was in a very happy mood and the students didn't understand why. Lan QiRen was known to never be happy, but his expression showed that he was very happy today. A student raised his hand

"Master Lan, why do you seem so happy today?"

"I am happy today because the Lan Sect will finally have an heir today! With that being said, today's class will be cancelled! You guys can all come in tomorrow for class!"

Everyone cheered as loudly as they could, there were people who were trying to figure out who was going to go to the training, there were people that were relieved that they didn't have to go, there was happiness everywhere.

"Sizhui! Are you going!?" Jin Ling ran up to Sizhui panting, he was so scared, he looked as if he was about to cry. "Please tell me that you aren't leaving me! PLEASE!" By now, he was sobbing, he couldn't bear to see his lover leave him.

"Shhh, Jin Ling, I'm not going, but we are all trying to figure out who is going. I would never leave you and Jingyi, you are my everything, and Jingyi is my best friend since childhood. Though I do have to say that whoever is going, I'm very proud of them for being able to leave all their friends behind just so that they can help out the sect." Lan Sizhui stroked the back of Jin Ling's head and gently smiled.

"The last person that would ever leave for that training is probably Jingyi, he would never ever leave you. He's like that other part of the magnet, he is always attached to you. You guys literally can't be separated, I don't have an issue with that as long as your feelings with him are mutual."

"Jin Ling! How can you say that! He's my best friend, not my lover! Though he is very clingy, he is just a friend, best friends can be very clingy to each other. I hope that you aren't getting jealous because of it though, I can cut down the time that I spend with him if that's what you want. I love you, please don't get mad, tell me if there's anything that you want me to do for you."

Sizhui was worried, he knew that Jingyi meant a lot to him, but he didn't want his lover to think that he loved Jingyi as well, and used being his 'best friend' as an excuse to spend more time with him.

"It's ok, I trust you. Though I would want you to cut down some time you spend with him, speaking of Jingyi, where is he? I haven't seen him all morning, which is something definitely new."
It was at that moment, Jingyi came out of his dorm, he had his suitcase packed and was just about to leave the door when he saw Sizhui and Jin Ling looking at him. He grabbed the suitcase and ran, Sizhui and Jin Ling looked at each other and ran after him.

"Zewu-Jun! Here is my suitcase, can I hide somewhere please?"

"Oh Jingyi! You are here, hide? Who are you hiding from? I'll tell them to leave."

"Uhm, just whoever comes here next, please."

"As you wish"

Zewu-Jun carefully placed Jingyi's suitcase inside of the horse cart, he turned around just in time to see Sizhui and Jin Ling, they were panting really hard, it seemed as if they were running through the entire area.

"Sizhui? Have you been running? You should know that you aren't allowed to run through Cloud Recesses? Is there something wrong?"

"Zewu-Jun! Where is Lan Jingyi? We saw him pack up his suitcase, but as soon as he saw us, he took off, we thought that we would find him here. IS HE LEAVING FOR THE TRAINING?!" Sizhui was barely breathing, partly because of the running and partly because he was nervous and wanted Zewu-Jun to say no.

"Um, Sizhui, Jin Ling, are you sure that the person that you saw was Jingyi? I think you guys are overthinking." Zewu-Jun knew that he couldn't lie, but he really wanted to help Jingyi.

"IT WAS DEFINITELY JINGYI! I KNOW IT! THE WAY HE RAN! IT IS HIM!" Jin Ling shouted.

"Jin Ling, I am sure that by now, after being in the Cloud Recesses for over 3 weeks, that you should've at least remembered some of the rules. 'Respect your elders', 'shouting is prohibited' and 'running is prohibited' are rules that you are breaking right now, I am quite shocked that Jiang Zongzhu has never told you about it. I want to tell you that you must right now leave."

Sizhui didn't want to get into trouble, he right away took Jin Ling by the wrists and led him towards the main area of Cloud Recesses.

Jingyi came out of the bushes and stood next to Zewu-Jun while Lan QiRen elegantly walked towards them, his strides were huge, but he wasn't moving very fast.

"Jingyi, XiChen, get ready, I look forward to seeing you guys in another 3 years, have you said goodbye to Wangji yet? If you haven't, go now. Jingyi, I really appreciate that you are willing to dedicate 3 years of your life to this training, it really pleases me. Make sure that you stay on top of your classes but don't overwork yourself."

Lan QiRen has never said something calmly towards Jingyi because whenever he sees Lan QiRen, he is always in trouble. This time, he knew that this chat isn't a 'see you again when you're in trouble', this was 'farewell for 3 years.'

-1 year later-

"It's been really quiet without Jingyi isn't it? I knew that it was Jingyi, I just don't understand why you didn't stop him from going. Why all of the sudden did he decide to do the training! With his behaviour, there was no way he would ever become a successful sect leader. He literally just wasted a year doing nothing there." Jin Ling was fidgeting with the hem of Sizhui's clothes as Sizhui sat in his lap.

"Yea, it really has been quiet... I don't understand though."

"Understand what?" Jin Ling looked up from the robe to see the puzzled expression in Sizhui's gentle face.

"You can't just get picked by the Master Lan to go to that place, you need to be picked by him and then you have to accept yourself. Jingyi would never accept an offer like that anyway, even if it meant that he will be able to not get in trouble ever again. He said that himself to me... I just don't get it."

Sizhui was clearly upset that Jingyi wasn't here, Jin Ling had noticed that Sizhui sometimes stared at Jingyi's empty bed, his empty seat in class and the spot where Jingyi used to sit at dinner. Jin Ling had long noticed that Sizhui wasn't the same anymore, every day, Sizhui talked about how if Jingyi was here and it annoyed both Jin Ling and Zizhen. Zizhen was always annoyed at them two for some reason, Jin Ling sometimes would get mad and yell at Zizhen but Zizhen just shrugs him off. After hearing the concern in Sizhui's voice, he was mad, he had enough of Sizhui mourning everyday for Jingyi.

"Sizhui, enough is enough. You spend most of your day talking about Jingyi, instead of spending time with me. Don't you love me anymore...?"

Here is the next part of the chapters! I'm so sorry that it took a bit longer than usual. Just kinda struggling to get some motivation. I'm hoping that the next part will be up by next week. If not, next weekend it will definitely be up!
