"Oh, uhm." Jingyi could only stammer, he really didn't want to have to see Sizhui. Sizhui was the last person that he really wanted to see, he wants to be left alone. Zizhen finally recovered from that shock, he realised that Jingyi was feeling awkward and really upset so he decided to step in for him.

"Oh right, sorry Jingyi, I know that you have a lot of work, I didn't mean to waste any of your time, you have a lot of stuff to get ready for tomorrow, don't you? Guess you should go now!" Zizhen pushed Jingyi and winked at him, Jingyi smiled and walked off.

"Zizhen... that was unnecessary. I needed to talk to him, why did you let him off? I'm his best friend, shouldn't I be able to speak with him especially since he left for three years without telling any of us?"

"Sizhui, it wasn't unnecessary, it's really funny that you call yourself Jingyi's 'best friend' if you don't even know what he wants. I guess you were really dense back then, dense enough to not sense it. I thought that you would have realised that when he left without telling you, he was already breaking that friendship down. He didn't tell me because he didn't have time to say goodbye to me, he told me already. Unlike you, because you were too caught up in your little relationship to realise that your 'best friend' was acting off the night before he left!? Don't bother calling him your 'best friend' because I heard that lying is forbidden in the Gusu Lan sect."

With that, Zizhen walked off leaving Sizhui contemplating what Zizhen had just told him. What does he mean by too dense? Dense for what...? Unless... no... it can't be... right?"

Zizhen was walking back towards his dorm, he stopped in front of it and realised that he shared a dorm with Sizhui. He took a few steps back and walked towards Lan Xichen's room instead. He knocked a few times on the door and Lan Xichen's friendly face met with his as he opened the door.

"What is it, Jingyi?"

"Zewu-Jun" he bows, "I was wondering if I could change my dorm, I really want to change it to Zizhen's dorm."

"Jingyi, unfortunately, Zizhen's room is a single room which means that there is only one bed and 2 people aren't allowed to sleep in there at the same time. Unfortunately, you're going to be stuck in the same old bedroom, also there aren't any vacant rooms left, only the one that you used to have. I'm sorry."
Jingyi wasn't really sure how to react, he knew that Lan Xichen wouldn't lie to him, but he really wanted to know if that was true, he didn't want to be stuck in the same room as someone that he doesn't want to talk to. I really wanted to be in the same room as Zizhen, then they could talk until they got tired.

"Oh, uhm, thanks I guess, Imma unpack now."

Lan Jingyi walked back the shared dorm with Sizhui in silence, the wind was whistling and the trees were swaying their hips, everything felt nostalgic, back when they were juniors, he and Sizhui would always play in the rabbit field, play around in the library and just playing anywhere. Those memories brought back happiness and shivers, he didn't necessarily really like the thought that the wind was giving him very unnecessary memories. He continued walking.

"Jingyi..."

Sizhui was at the door, he was waiting for Jingyi for quite a while now, he was taller than before but shorter than Jingyi, after all, Jingyi was a Lan and Lan's are known to be tall and handsome, so it is no surprise that Jingyi grew up to look just like Hanguang-Jun. Jingyi looked up at whoever was talking to him, he wasn't surprised when he was met with a face that he was dreading to see. Sizhui. Instead of replying, he nodded and walked straight past Sizhui. Sizhui felt like his entire childhood was leaving him, he wanted to hold Jingyi's hand and ask if they could be friends again, but Jingyi would never forgive someone so easily.

He turned around staring at Jingyi who was unpacking his stuff that was neatly folded inside of his suitcase.

I wonder if Zewu-Jun helped him pack up, he would never be able to pack any of that in such a neat pile.

After storing everything away, he stood up, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Sizhui staring at him, he felt almost immediately uncomfortable. It had been so long since he last saw Sizhui in the same room as him for so long, he needed to get out, but how?

"Jingyi... I'm sorry I didn't realise your feelings for me before. I didn't understand... you never really made yourself clear. I broke up with Jin Ling 2 weeks ago, I think I fell in love with you."

Sizhui stared at Jingyi with those misty eyes that Jingyi often usually found himself lost in, but this time, he didn't feel like it. He was mad, but the tournament reminded him that no matter how angry you got, you are to deal with your problems properly. Jingyi took in a deep breath and calmly said,

"Sizhui, the past is the past, I really don't know what I saw in you back then. I don't really care what your status is right now, married, not married, single, dating, it doesn't concern me."
Jingyi made his way to the door, he could feel his eyes stinging and it took all of his self-restraint to not cry.

"Jingyi... would you not care whether I was dead or alive?"

He could hear Sizhui breaking down behind him but he didn't want to face it.

"I would care... because I wouldn't want to deal with a dead corpse in this sect."

It was the first thing that came to mind and came out of Jingyi's mouth, he wasn't thinking, he immediately bit his tongue, he went too far. How can he make it up to Sizhui this time? He messed up really badly, but who was he to care for Sizhui? He walked away without saying another word leaving Sizhui bawling his eyes out on the ground.

I'm sorry Sizhui. I'm leaving for good.
