The Return (Chapter 6)

-2 weeks later-

"Jingyi, how are you feeling about coming back to Gusu? It's been a while hasn't it?"

The entire trip back to Gusu has just been Jingyi looking through the documents to become sect leader and Zewu-Jun staring out into the distance and looking at the scenery. Three years ago, Jingyi would've been chatting and annoying Zewu-Jun the entire ride, but right now, there was no sound that was in the carriage, just the constant sound of Jingyi flicking through the pages.

Jingyi looked up at Zewu-Jun who was still waiting for his answer,

"Oh right, sorry about that Zewu-Jun, I wasn't really paying attention to what you were saying, my apologies. I feel quite nervous to return actually..." Jingyi looked back down to the document, it was like a safe little place, whenever he felt uncomfortable, he could just ignore everything that's going around him and stay focused on something. He hadn't realised that Zewu-Jun had already walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You're worried about seeing 'him', aren't you?"

Jingyi looked up at the sudden reply, he wasn't expecting Zewu-Jun to have figured it out so fast, he wasn't ready to share with Zewu-Jun the fact that he wasn't actually over Sizhui.

"uhm..." was all that Jingyi could make out, he knew that he already lied to Zewu-Jun about this situation, he didn't want to make it any more complicated so instead he nodded. Zewu-Jun smiled, he laughed a bit as well.

"I knew that you wouldn't be so easily over him. After all, I know that Lan's love only once, who says that you aren't a true Lan, this point proves it all!"

Jingyi smiled at the remark, he loved when Zewu-Jun unleashes his cheeky and playful side, he was always so cold and stern just like Hanguang-Jun, he doesn't understand how Wei Wuxian managed to fall in love with such a cold person like he understands that Hanguang-Jun is nice and everything but with that cold and distinct personality, kind of hard to fall in love with. He smiles to himself but continues to look through the document.

-At Gusu-

Sizhui woke up at five sharp in the morning, he was putting on his boots when suddenly he remembered, today was the day when Jingyi was going to come back to Gusu! So excited, he grabbed his sword and rushed outside. Everyone was already crowding the entrance so Sizhui could only really stand near the library. He watched the carriage open, he watched as the familiar shape of their sect leader, Lan Xichen, walked out, he stood next to the carriage, then Lan Jingyi stepped out. Sizhui's eyes couldn't believe what he was seeing.

That was no way Lan Jingyi, his face was defined in the angle of the sun, his eyes were a lot more like Hanguang-Jun's, the arch of his nose was a lot higher than before and those chubby cheeks now outlined his high cheekbones. He was definitely a Lan, those beautiful features were never seen before, it was at this moment he realised that he loves Lan Jingyi. During the time that Lan Jingyi was away, there were many new disciples that were part of the Gusu Lan clan, there were many that heard the story of Lan Jingyi and Lan Sizhui so everyone was looking in Lan Sizhui's area.

Lan Xichen turned his head to see what the new disciples were looking at, he wasn't really surprised to see Lan Sizhui standing there. He smiled at him, but it wasn't the same smile that he used to give Sizhui, the warm and welcoming one, this one was just polite but not rude.

Sizhui bowed to his sect leader, Zewu-Jun turned away and walked towards the room of Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian's. This leaves Lan Jingyi standing near the carriage, he was still reading through his documents, there were many disciples that have questioned him many questions, he answered each of them politely but each time not taking his eyes off the document.
