Chapter 5

As we drive to the bonfire i was thinking about how i didn't notice Bella as i left home. 

"Brenden did say she was coming to the bonfire maybe she was already there" 

My mind wonders and  i think about the fact that I'm going to a bonfire with who knows how many people that i don't know and have never met. 

"I hope i make a good impression, Maybe ill make some friends it would be good to have some friends here." 

Brenden breaks the silence "I noticed that Teddy's wearing the outfit you brought him today"

"Yeah, i thought it was cute. plus i love wolves and so does Teddy."

I notice a smile appear on Brenden's face "Really wolfs, don't you think there dangerous creatures" 

I shake my head "No i believe they are creatures created by nature, though i do think there are wolfs that can be dangerous and vicious creatures.

My mind goes to the horrible vicious Fenrir Greyback. the werewolf that bit and killed innocent children. One of those being Teddys father Remus Lupin. 

"That's a nice way of thinking of them, Quileute legends that will be told tonight are about how our tribe are descendants from wolfs"

Something clicks in my head 

"There's no way there werewolves. Is there?" 

I start to think about all the supernatural creatures we learned about at Hogwarts and there was never another type of werewolf. But just because the magical world doesn't know about them doesn't mean they don't exist. 

I smile at Brenden after getting out of my thoughts "Well i cant wait to hear them" 

Brenden looks at me with a worried look "Just so you know there aren't many people that come to the bonfires that aren't from the tribe so there might be people that question you tonight" 

I look back at him with worry "I thought you said me coming wouldn't be a inconvenience" 

He shakes his head "No its not that, i already asked my dad and he said its fine but others from the tribe council aren't as welcoming to outsiders"

I shift uncomfortably thinking about being interrogated by tribal council members. 

Brenden looks to reassure me "Its fine though, even though I've only known you for a day i know your an kind person and can be trusted with the tribal stories" 

I smile as i feel honored by the words that Brenden has told me. 

We finally arrive at the bonfire, which Brenden informed to be his house

Once i get out of the car i walk to the back seat and un hook Teddy from the baby seat. 

I take a deep breath as Brenden and i walk over to all the people surrounding the bonfire. 

I notice that the  adults are sitting on the logs around the fire while the younger people are either standing near the fire or in groups talking away from the fire. 

I see Brenden motioning to a man in a wheelchair that i think is his father from the resemblance 

"Dad, this is lily Charlie's niece that just moved to forks" 

"Hi its nice to meet you Mr. Black" I shift teddy in my arms to shake Billy's hand 

I get the same surge of power that Brenden had when i shook his hand but compared to Brenden it was much weaker
