We walked down aisles of creatures. Voices rose around us, a sea of stories. Not many of them glanced at our seemingly human group.
We reached the very back of the huge room. Empty plastic seats lined a lonely table.
Each person seemed to know where they sat, but two seats stayed open. One next to Kara and Ash, and one between Jake and Oasis.
John glanced at me, and motioned for me to sit.
Easily, I sat into the chair between Kara and Ash, and John sat between Jake and Oasis.
"Uh, now what?" I asked, nervousness clouding me. I was always shy, quiet. It was a fantasy to be alone. Dreams could fill your imagination and it was a calming feeling.
"Now, we have to wait a few minutes for our table to be called," Kara said calmly, and pointed to a big, red painted number on the table. I hadn't seen it before, but I quickly examined the number with a glance.
"73," it read.
A crackling could be heard, as a voice over an intercom rumbled out the number 65. Two trolls, a cyclops, a fairy, and a boy with a small dragon resting on his shoulder, got up from a near table and calmly made their way to a long line.
The line led to windows, where the creatures received food from animals behind the windows."So, Lily, tell me more about yourself," Jake said, smirking once again.
"There's nothing to tell," I calmly responded.
"What's your story, grimm wise?" He fired back.
I could feel heat rising to my cheeks.
"It's no big story, very small and unknown," I said with a smile
Lies.
"Ah, tell me more," Jake continued to press for information"I doubt you've heard of it, it's of no interest to many"
"Tell me," Jake demanded this time.
Kara looked over at me, and I suddenly felt stuck.
"Jake, calm down. You'll learn soon enough," Kara said pointedly. I quietly thanked her in my head.
He slyly looked at Kara and I, and sat back in his creaky plastic chair. Jake opened his mouth, about to speak, but the crackling noise boomed out again.
"73"
Everyone rose, and started walking down the aisle. Not many looked, but a few glanced. They hardly noticed me, mostly focused on Jake with looks of distaste.
What a reputation. As we reached the line, a girl looked back at me. She had green skin, and flowing blue hair that was braided into two identical braids. Her eyes were this electronic green, a fantasys color.
"Hey, I'm Faith, and you are?" She spoke, looking straight at me. She softly smiled
"Hi, um I'm Lily" I said, a bit timid. I don't know why I felt timid, but it just filled my body with a timid electricity.
"Well Hey Lily, are you new?" She seemed shy, but confident.
"Uh yeah" I quickly spoke.
Her name echoed in the room, somebody was calling for Faith and she turned to look
Some guy, with similar looks of her but with a warmer color palette of skin and such.
She glanced back at me as she left, smiling an apology
"Sorry Lily, I'll see you later." She turned and walked away"Be careful Lily," Kara spoke in an urgent whisper. Her eyes still followed Faith
"They aren't always what you think" She whispered her warning and looked away from Faith to myself. Before I knew it, we had reached the front of the line. Lines of stacked blue trays were the first thing you really saw. Everyone had grabbed one, so I quickly reached and took one.
They slowly went along the line of food. The food didn't seem so bad up close, with a variety of mac and cheese, pizza, salads, soups, sandwiches, and some sort of pasta dish.
Maybe this prison like place was a bit better then I had expected.
Just MaybeAUTHORS NOTE
Ok this isn't a thousand words, I'm sure of it.
Deeply sorry for that one
I haven't been using my laptop lately because Youtube is messed up and I normally listen to music and write.
I just haven't updated, and I meant to over the weekend, but plans changed. Also, important news.
Next few chapters are going to be back stories. For example one will be called Kara, and will be from Karas point of view, and how she got there and such.
Most characters are based of songs, so I'll make sure to include those.
There's only going to be Jake, Kara, Oasis, Ash, Josh, and Kevins views for now.
Then we'll go back to Lilys view.
This also means that I will probably post them all at once, with a normal chapter.AND THANKS SO MUCH FOR 100 READS
WE HIT 131 WHEN I'M WRITING THIS AND WHEN I NOTICED I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE DROPPED MY IPAD AND BROKE MY HEADPHONES IN EXCITEMENT.
BiG hearts to you guys!!!
