It has been five years since Croc arrived back on Earth, also known as the scavenger world. The rain poured heavenly on the muddy ground and thunder began to roar. The trees swayed and the striking, spurts of lightning were noticed across the horizon. Croc stood close by the window of his house, he was now back to a young man and his gaze was set to the rumbling storm. His eyes were deep and sullen, like how it looked liked the day he left Muddrop. Croc just stood there motionless, looking out the window, staring at the mud drops that pitter, pattered against the muddy ground. His thoughts were only on Muddrop, everything he thought, or saw forced him to think of her. It has been too long, he had to see her again. Suddenly the sound of padding footsteps were heard behind Croc, and out appeared a five year old girl clutching a dragon stuffy in her arms.
"Daddy i'm scared. The Storm woke me up and now i can't sleep." The girl whined, she was shivering and she clutched her stuffy tighter. Croc turned to her and gently picked her up in his strong arms.
"Shh, Daddy's got you. But I don't think the storm was the one who woke you up. What is wrong Terracotta?" Croc asked noticing the sweat running down her forehead.
Terracotta sighed and her gaze settled to the rumbling storm in the distance.
"I had a dream, that I was flying in the storm and i was in the form of a dragon, on one side there were two other dragons, one was blue and the other was red. On my other side, there was a yellow dragon. We were all bruised and hurt and i could see that we were all scared. Then I heard an evil laughter and I saw another dragon, except he had lightning around him, The dragon roared and attacked the dragons beside me, they were wounded and i couldn't do anything. He then said, "Terracotta one day, all your loved ones will fall, and you will have no one except your dead body." and then i woke up to the sound of lightning."
Terracotta just stared out in the storm, tears began to flow down her cheeks as she replayed the dream once again. Croc held her closer to his strong chest, he stroked her hair and cleaned the tears from her eyes. As Croc cradled his crying child, the dream continued to play itself over and over again. Not only did the dream bother him, but the words the WeatherWing spoke. "Terracotta one day, all your loved ones will fall, and you will have no one except your dead body."
The words rang in Croc's ears over and over again. He could hear the voice already reciting those cruel words, and his fist was clenched in anger. He had to protect Terracotta, he promised Muddrop he would. But what about Muddrop? What will happen to her if she... No Croc couldn't think that way, it was too painful. He had to protect his child before it's too late. Croc's mind kept swarming with thoughts and questions. Who are the other three dragons? Will they take part in Terracotta's life too? Will Terracotta endanger them? In the dream, she seems to have a strong connection with the three dragons? Who are they? These questions rung in his ears, but was interrupted by Terracotta.
"Daddy, Who are those dragons in my dream? I seem to know them, like i have seen them before."
Croc was surprised, boy was his kid smart. He cleared his throat and answered, "I think we had bit too much craziness tonight, how bout we grab a midnight snack and you can sleep with me."
Terracotta's eys grew big. Her heart pounded uncontrollably and her stomach seemed to speak to her telling her to eat. Terracotta smiled widely slightly forgetting her nightmare, but it still lingered there in her mind. But she continued to enjoy the midnight snack anyway. Croc slightly, smiled at his starving dragonet, er child. Ever since he entered the scavenger world she has changed. She was the kindergarden genius, she was supposed to be in kindergarden but now she was in second grade. But this made her the target for bullying. That actually didn't seem to mind with Terracotta, she was strong and soon she later scared her bulliers away. Croc was proud of his growing daughter, he just wished Muddrop could see it. Sooner or later, Terracotta's eyes began to drop. Croc smiled, he picked up his now falling asleep child and placed her on his king sized bed. He climbed inside and brought the sheets up to their necks. Croc gazed at Terracotta, though in human form she was a lot like her mother. Croc traced his finger across the long scar on Terracotta's face. His mind flash backed to the bad memories but quickly shut it off. It was too painful. The necklace on Terracotta was still hanging on her neck. It glowed in the moonlight and it shimmered brightly. Croc smiled and laid down pulling his side of the sheets with him. Soon Croc's eyes grew heavy and soon he fell asleep. But the memory of the dream still thrived inside of him, whacking his brain with more thoughts begging for answers. What will happen to Terracotta? Will he be able to protect her or will she die because he is a scavenger?
