Please note that this small guide is not intended as a "writing tips" kind of thing, as I'm absolutely not qualified for that.
Some of my readers asked suggestions on how to keep One Piece characters IC, and since I'm a bit of an IC maniac, I decided to go along with it. ^^"
I hope this turns helpful for someone. I'll to one character per chapter and I'll try to keep it concise.
My idea is to start with a few guys. If you're interested in seeing someone else or have specific questions, leave me a request down here and I'll try to comply!
Eustass Kid
Of course I'll be starting with him since he's the one I've analysed the most.
Thankfully, it's pretty easy to get him right in a story, or at least this is my impression. He didn't have too much screen time in the manga so far but Oda did a great job in defining his character with the few interactions we've seen.
One of Kid's defining characteristics is that he's impulsive as hell. He's a "kills first talk later" kind of guy.
Between talking and acting, he will always choose acting. This doesn't mean that he won't stop to consider the situation when it's needed, especially if he's in some kind of internal struggle. We've seen this during Udon's liberation.
He's awfully proud and ambitious, which makes him stubborn. He's ruthless but at the same time he's able of affection. He cares deeply about his crew but he won't show it easily. I imagine this would apply to his s/o.
With his s/o. Since he's so physical, he'll be very sexual. Rough in bed and outside because it's all he knows. Prone to hurt his s/o easily, he'll regret it later but he's too proud to openly apologise, so he'll do it with actions (not words) and only if it's really needed. He's not the romantic type. He's not the confession type. Possessive. Jealous. Often unreasonable. Protective.
He wouldn't fall for weakness, a person who laughs at dreams or someone who settles.
