You were sitting on the bench with the coaches, observing. Little did you know while you were in enticed by everyone's ability to play so astonishingly a certain setter couldn't shake off what had happened earlier. Why didn't you react like all of his other fans? Why didn't you fall to his feet? His teammates laughed at him in a mocking way because of you. It was bugging him so much. Clearly you had to know who he was. Maybe you were just playing dumb?
Time skip - end of practice
Everyone had walked over to you, when handing out the water bottles you would give a small smile to them. "You guys did amazing!" you say bouncing a little from all the excitement. A few guys chuckled at your behavior. "I was amazing I know" Makki says teasingly. You couldn't help but roll your eyes laughing a little. Oikawa handed you the bottle back after saying a small thank you.
"So y/n did you already know these two before applying for manager?" Watari asks while pointing to the pink haired boy, and the other who looks like he just wants to pass out. "Yeah, I met them when we were little kids. We were at a playground when I was playing by myself they came up to me asking if I had wanted to join them." The boys came by your side Mattsun to your left, Makki to your right. Both throwing an arm around over your shoulders while smiling.
"Once I got got to junior high we lost contact because i had moved to" the memory made you pout a bit. "I decided to come here for a fresh start, and when I saw them again. It was a nice little reunion" Makki ruffles your hair before slightly pushing you into Mattsun. "We should start cleaning" Yahaba said walking away just wanting to go home.
You watch as the boys start there cleaning routine. You start gathering your bag, thinking about the past. It leaves you wondering what would happen if you never met Makki, and Mattsun. Would you be here today? Or would you have just stayed in your room all the time crying? You didn't want to think about it but talking about how you met them just brought up old memories you didn't care to remember. You had honestly forgot about them for a while but that'll never happen.
You didn't even realize how much time went by you stood there looking at the floor. Laughter broke you out of your trance. "Come on y/n lets get going to the train station." Makki said. You nod your head, and start walking out the door humming a tune quietly to yourself. Once you three are out of ear shot of the members Mattsun speaks up "How are you holding up." you turn to face him, then back to the road "I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me." he scoffs at your answer. "You don't expect me to believe that right?" you nod your head and continue to hum. He frowns at you. "After you left, how did things go?" he tries to keep the conversation going but you weren't up for it.
"Oh look we're here!" you jump up a little and start to speed up your pace, leaving the boys there in distraught. They glance at each other not liking how you dodge his questions. Feeling your heart hurt a bit, you just weren't ready to talk about it. Specially in public without feeling confident enough you wouldn't cry. You turn your head to look at them waving for them to hurry giving a goofy grin. They smile in return. You were so bright, even in the darkness. That much anyone could tell.
"Y/n, are you going to start running with us in the morning like before?" you stuck out your tongue before booing at Makki. You three got in the train sitting down. "Are you calling me fat?" you try to keep a straight face barely holding it. "What?! No! I was just! You're not fat!" you couldn't help it you started to burst out laughing holding your sides. Watching him trip over his words was just so funny. "Don't get so worked up. I know I'm a little chubby but I might start running with you guys again." you lean your head back closing your eyes. You were spent, no doubt about it.
After waiting for some time you finally got off at your stop. It was quite lonely, they got off a few stops before. Once you got home you step inside. it was quiet. Too quiet for your liking. It was almost suffocating at this point. You quickly go to take your shoes off, trying not to make so much noise you took off making a beeline for the stairs and into your room. You shut the door, slamming it a little harder then you wanted to. You cringe at the sound it had made, and quickly locking your door and just waited. Yet all you were met with was silence.
Finally finishing your homework, you start getting ready for bed until your stomach starts to rumble at you. You figured since no one was home you could grab something and run back into your room before you got caught. You unlock your door and open it sticking your head out looking around. You hurry down stairs, and make your way to the kitchen. Opening the pantry, searching you settle for some ramen in a cup. You start at the microwave wishing for it to hurry up. The door knob starts to jiggle which went unnoticed by you.
Once the door opens you hear it, and completely freeze. Your blood running cold, heart falling to your stomach. You hear them take off their shoes, and start to make there way to the kitchen. You couldn't move, even if you wanted to you were so scared. Wishing nothing more than to be invisible. Seems like luck was on your side today. They walked right past you without saying anything, not even a quick glance at you, and that's what truly scared you then if they would've confronted you.
