Matsukawa pov
Waiting for the bell the to ring I start to zone out thinking about everything. Why couldn't Makki, just get over what he's going through? It's 'causing more damage than accomplishing anything good in the long run. Can't he see Kindaichi, has been stepping in the last two days because they were stressed? Smooth first year I'll give him that, coming to their aid like that. The bell starts to ring, breaking me out of my train of thought.

Gathering all my stuff I make my way out of the classroom to go get Makki. "Do we have to go Mattsun? I don't want to see all flirty stuff." he says looking defeated. "Quit your whining, and don't think about it." not long after we make our way inside the gym, and change. Awhile after we take a five minute break Y/n, handing us water. Glancing at Kindaichi, he blushes when their hands touch for a millisecond. Holding back a laugh I settle for talking to Oikawa.

Rest of practice seemed to drag on forever but it was finally over. Not waiting for Makki, to finish up in the locker room I make my way to Y/n, before they can leave. "Hey Mattsun, you did great job today!" I can't help but smile a little at the sincere compliment. "Thanks. Are you going to be riding the train today?" I ask tapping my index finger against my leg. "No. I'm staying late again to run with Emiko. She's going to help me to try to run another mile today."

Furrowing their eyebrows together they continue speaking. "Akako, she hasn't been seen since Tuesday after her practice. So tomorrow if she still hasn't shown up Emiko, and I are going to file a missing persons report." taking a deep breath she continues "Mattsun, you don't think-" getting cut of by Makki "Mattsun, let's go." he says looking at me than them. "Y/n. I just want to say sorry for ignoring you." he says muttering the apology looking away anxiously.

"It's okay. You just needed time to sort things out. That's understandable." they say before giving a soft smiling, and walking out the gym. "That was nice of you now come on." patting his back we make our way outside in a comfortable silence. "Y/n, says Akako been missing. They think he's back since he did escape, and the police still haven't found him." it's a fifty-fifty chance it's not him but my gut saying it's him.

"I hope he took her." Makki, whispers more to himself but I still heard it. "Don't say that! I know you don't like her but he's dangerous. We weren't there for long, and no doubt he's capable of murder but still if he caught her it's game over for sure." looking at pavement kicking small rocks. "I know. But shouldn't Y/n, have some type of security since they live alone?" he says voicing my concern.

"I'm sure they'll be fine. He didn't necessarily like hitting Y/n, so I don't think he would harm them. I think if the police were worried about their safety, they would have cops taking different shifts to watch their house." am I trying to convince him, or myself at this point? "You're right. I'm probably overthinking this but I don't want to relive that. It was beyond horrible." grabbing his hand, and interlocking our fingers together. "I know Makki, I know."

We get to our spot where we would usually separate ways but it was dark, and I wanted to make sure he got home safe. "I'm walking you home from now on." I tell him, one hand still holding his while I use my other one to get out my phone, and send a quick text to my mom telling her. "I can take care of myself." "I know but still.". Dropping him off making sure he got inside, I turn around putting in my headphones picking a song.

Walking at a slow pace, no need to hurry home which I probably should walk faster. I close my eyes for a short amount of time before I stop walking. Opening my eyes I stop my music, taking out my headphones, and start looking at my surroundings. Heart beating faster to the point where I think I could hear it. Shaking my head, not bothering to play anymore music, I walk faster feeling someone watching me as if I'm its prey.
