An alarm rang through Changkyun's ears, making his eyebrows furrow down and his eyes to open slowly. The sun shined through the window he was sleeping next to, another way of saying good morning to him. He pushed the white comforter out of the way to grab the clothes that he had set out for today.
His room was filled with band posters and dirty clothes on the floor along with his soccer jersey. He decided to clean it after he got home from school, pulling his blue jeans up past his hips and buttoning the button in front. He grabbed his only good shirt which was a white tee and slipped his socks on.
Changkyun almost fell over in the process, half of his brain was still shut down after just waking up. After he had finished, he grabbed the heavy backpack that was sprawled out on the floor, cleaning up the folders and computer than was spilling out of it.
He went down the steps quickly, being greeted by the sweet smell of french toast being made, he saw his little brother, Elliot sitting in his own chair.
His mother noticed him and turned around with a wide grin on her face, "Oh! Changkyun," she walked over to him and cupped his cheeks, kissing his forehead quickly, "I attempted to make french toast for my two favorite boys in the world." she flipped the toast, seeing the golden brown color before she set them on a white plate, drizzling syrup on them.
"Thanks mom, but the bus is here so I have to go, i'll see you tonight." he waved goodbye to Elliot who already stuffed his face full, syrup drizzling down his chin, giving Changkyun a laugh.
Changkyun walked out of the house and ran to the bus, waiting for the doors to open so he could get in, the autumn breeze sent a shiver down his back, it was yet another quiet morning in Seoul.
The bus opened the door for him to get in, which he did and immediately went into the back of the bus. It was the same length to school as every other day, unless he missed the bus and had to run down the street to catch the other bus, then they didn't have the same length of time.
His earbuds were in, and he felt relaxed while the sound of music was being played in his ears. When the bus stopped, he walked out and into the school, immediately greeted by honey; which was what everyone called him because of the one time in second grade, he stuck his head in a big honey pot from winnie the pooh costume.
The day was just like any other day. Until late at night.
Changkyun had been texting Honey for the past few hours, but once he felt his eyes become tired, he placed his phone down and closed his eyes to sleep, until he heard rustling down in the kitchen. Changkyun came from underneath the blankets with a groan because he was half asleep, and put a shirt on. He grabbed his phone and turned the flash on, walking down the steps in a soft and easy pace, careful not to make any creaks. Each time the floor creaked, he stopped and closed his eyes, his teeth biting on his bottom lip to not breathe too loud or talk.
By the time he was in the kitchen, he saw the fridge open and someone leaning halfway inside it, grabbing food and putting it back on the island. Changkyun grabbed the kitchen knife from the knife block, holding it out in front of him. He heard the person mumbling something to himself, like he was singing.
"Who are you?" he asked, pointing the knife at the person's waist, making them turn to face him and smile brightly, which surprised Changkyun.
"Oh Changkyun!" he smiled and placed the food down on the island, "I'm your guardian angel." he frowned, tapping his chin. "Well, guardian demon, I'm no angel, that's for sure." He reassured him, crossing his arms and leaning against the fridge, but he was too far away, making him fall back to the ground. He quickly stood up in the blink of an eye.
