Marina Bay Memorial

It had been 4 months since Greta spoke to Mr. Pike about Jimmys estate. She asked for some time to decide how she wanted to proceed and to get legal help of her own before making any rash decisions.

Gretas dad, Bruce, called her one afternoon and asked to meet her about Jimmys law firm. I have the results you were asking for, Greta, and there are only a couple of people to worry about.

Okay, dad, Ill meet you after my classes tomorrow, just outside the main entrance of the Marina Bay Memorial.

The next afternoon, Greta was coming out of the hospital and talking to Nikki when she saw her dad. As the women separated, Nikki waved at Gretas dad before returning to work.

So, dad, what have you come up with? she asked as they walked back to his car.

Im not sure what you have in mind for his law firm but if youre trying to get rid of anyone who was like Jimmy, Id take these two individuals aside and give them their notice. He said and produced photos and information about two different men from his folder.

Greta had gone to counseling after Jimmy died so she could not only come to terms with his death but what shed experienced during her pregnancy, his abuse and psychological torture. Shed grown stronger for it and was now ready to take on whatever happened with Jimmys estate and his old law firm.

Alright, dad. Have you thought about who might be best suited to take over the law firm? I certainly have no intentions of keeping it.

Ive actually talked to the people who were investigating the firm for you and theyve made a few recommendations. And he pulled out some sheets of papers on three different people, 2 men and a woman.

Greta never thought about women taking over a law firm before but she didnt see why it wasnt possible either. She read over the files later that evening and made her decision. She decided to call her dad and ask him to meet her with his results at the firm on the following afternoon. Its time to clean house, dad.

The following day, Bruce was waiting outside of Jimmys law firm, Whitfield and Associates when Greta and George pulled into the driveway. As they went into the building, Greta looked around at the firm for the first time. Shed never been inside of Jimmys place of business before. I guess he had some secrets of his own, she said to herself.

As they approached the receptionist, the woman behind the desk asked if they had an appointment.

No we dont. My name is Greta Isaacs and Id like to speak to whoever you have in charge, please.

A few minutes later, a gentleman came out and introduced himself as Michael Sommers.

Is there something I can assist you with, Miss Isaacs? Ive been in charge of this firm since Mr. Whitfields passing.

After Greta introduced her dad and George, she pulled out a folder her dad handed her on the way into the building. She opened it and said, When Mr. Whitfield passed away, his attorney, Mr. Pike contacted me, explaining to me how I was named as the sole beneficiary to his estate.

Mr. Sommers glanced through the folder briefly and then said Please, Miss. Isaacs, why dont you all follow me and well talk more about this in private, and proceeded to take them down the hall to one of the smaller conference rooms.

After the door to the conference room was closed, Mr. Sommers said, Id heard about Mr. Whitfields passing but that was a good six months ago. How come nobodys heard about you before now?
