Chapter 10: To do list

Aoi: Akiri, you coming?

I heard Aoi ask me as he opened the front door of the dormitory.

Akiri: You go on ahead, Aoi. I have something to do first

Aoi: Is it important? I'll wait here if you want

Akiri: No, it's fine. This shouldn't take long

Aoi: Okay. I'll see you at school then

Aoi then walked out the door and heads off towards school.

Currently, I am trying to decide whether or not to give the withdrawal notice back to its rightful owner.

I know I should always give lost items back to the owner, but if I did that, it seems like that she would go away, so I didn't give it back.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure why I did that. If that's what she wants to do, I have no reason to stop her, but I was hesitant for some reason.

So here I am, walking back and forth in the entrance hall, deciding on what to do, when suddenly, I saw Kotori who is wearing her uniform and she was poking her head out from her room.

She was furtively checking the situation outside.

Kotori: Ah!

As soon as our eyes meet, she slams the door shut and I raised my eyebrow in confusion.

Akiri: What's she up to this time?

Kotori is always doing something suspicious, but there is definitely something behind her behaviour just now.

I decided to go hide in the dining hall until she came out. It didn't take long until Hat came waddling into the dining hall.

Hat: Quack?

Akiri: Shh

I put my finger on my lips and just like that, Hat went back to Kotori's room.

Kotori: There was no one there?

I heard her ask from inside her room.

Hat: Quack, quack!

Kotori: Alright. He must've gone ahead

She then peeks her head out the door.

Kotori: Looks like no one's here... If that guy catches me, he'll make such a fuss

She thinks out loud, completely oblivious that I am still here. I noticed that she is wearing her school uniform, but she isn't carrying her bag.

She went out to the entrance hall and pulled out her notebook. I then decided to sneak up behind her.

Kotori: Let's see... I did this before, so today...

She muttered to herself as she was looking at a page in her notebook.

Akiri: You're skipping school again?

Kotori: Eek!

I decided to make my presence known and she let out an ear-piercing shriek and threw her notebook in surprise.

Kotori: W-what are you doing here?! But I just checked!

Akiri: You should really stop sending out a duck to scout for you

I said with a sigh as I went and picked up the notebook that she dropped and I looked at the open page.

It's the same page that I saw before with the list of different tasks.

Kotori: Hey! Give my notebook back!
