His gaze wasn't fixed on me , but on my crossbow. "How did you get that" he whispered. "My dad bought it for me for my seventh birthday" i replied. "Is it really you... (y/n)?" I rapidly nodded my head and started sprinting in his direction.
He crouched on one knee and extended his arms. I jumped into his arms and he twirled me around, before slowly lowering me onto the ground, arms still around each other."I thought you were dead" we spoke in unison.
We separated after a couple minutes of just silently embracing eachother and I took a few steps back. "Two years" i whispered, thinking of the last time I saw him."two years too long" he corrected and sent a small smirk in my direction." you are not wrong there" i replied.
I noticed that he was starting to get sweaty and he was playing with his hands while looking anywhere but me."is there something wrong dad?" "N-no.. Um well yeah.. Is (m/n) ok?"(A/n- (m/n) is your mothers name)
i stiffened at his question, me eyes widening. I threw a glance at Hailee, who was awkwardly standing beside me, asking 'help' with my eyes. She gave me a look that said 'he will find out anyways, just tell him'
"U-uh...."I stuttered"m-mom..um..s-she.."I lowered my head in sadness.'How am I supposed to tell him that his wife is dead?'I thought."Is she? Please tell me is she ok?!" He asked, raising his voice. I looked up to see the anticipation and confusing all over his face. I gulped, "mom, s-she's dead" i mumbled, hoping he wouldn't hear me. But luck wasn't on my side today.
