Chapter 5:

(ok so i guess this is part two of chapter 4)

Me and Benny arrived at the sandlot at around 11:00 AM. It only really took us around 2 minutes to walk there anyways. I found it weird how me and Ivy had never even come across it before, considering we both used to love to explore and it was so close to both of our houses. Standing on the diamond were 8 boys, one of them being Marcus (Marcus is Bertram btw). Of course when I saw him I wondered where Ivy could be.

"Melina!!" I looked over and shielded my eyes from the blistering sun. I grinned at Ivy who was sitting in what seemed to be similar to an old wooden shack. Ivy ran towards the two of us.

"Hey Ivs"

"Hey Mel, hey Benny" She gave him a look and then gave me the same one.

"What?" I giggled as i spoke.

"Nothingggg"

"Hey Mel come and meet the guys" Benny said as he tilted his head in their direction.

We walked over and a short-ish boy with glasses seemed to spot us.

"Oh my god Benny come on, we've been waiting for forever already! Oo whos the babe?"

I giggled and Benny just rolled his eyes, "Guys this is Melina, Melina this is Michael Palledorous , we call him squints for obvious reasons, Scotty Smalls but we just call him smalls, Hamilton Porter, we call him ham, Alan McClennan, we call him yeah-yeah, Kenny DeNunez, Timmy and Tommy Timmons and you already know Marcus."

I smiled at them "Hey"

"Hey" They all said it but at different times (idk how to write that oops😓).

"You guys go play, i'll go sit with Ivy" I grinned.

"Okay" Benny grinned back whilst leaning over and kissing my forehead.

"Ew" Timmy said.

"Yeah, ew" Tommy followed.

"Shut up guys" Benny ran over to bat as i walked over to Ivanna.

She squealed and my lips curled into a slight smile.

"So, hows you and Marcus?" I asked as i sat down beside her.

"Great, we went skating and then to the diner. A lot of making out too" She winked at me.

"Gross" I said slightly under my breath.

"Anyways, you and Benny huhhh" she elbowed me.

"What, we're just friends" Um?

"Yeah friends don't kiss each other Mel"

"Okay okay, I guess we're more than just friends but nothings official"

"Hm well, let me know when it is"

"Are you and Marcus dating then?"

"Well I think were kind of in the same situation as you two, I really like him though, and I guess he likes me too."

I smiled "Of course he does"

She smiled back. We both looked over at the boys, Kenny was pitching and Benny batting. His strong arms held the bad tightly as he glanced over at me and swiftly looked back to then hit the ball. It flew through the air as Benny dropped the bat and sprinted faster than i think iv'e ever seen anyone sprint before. Of course he got a home run. I caught myself smiling at him and so did he as he turned around and smiled back.

"I don't get how they can play out here, it's way to hot" Ivy groaned.

I was still staring at Benny, "Mhmm" I mumbled, not paying attention to what she was saying.
