Chapter 4: I'm not your mistress!
***
"Mistress it's time to wake up." A soft voice calls from above me.
I slowly sit up in bed with my eyes still closed. The sudden light is irritating my eyes. I rub my face dramatically then lick my dry lips as my eyes open. A boy in a tuxedo stands by my bed.
"Who are you?" I ask the boy as I scratch my tangled curls.
"I'm your personal butler, mistress." The boy bows down. Once he faces up I get a good look at his face.
"Nelson?" I jump out of bed then look at him closer to make sure he is really who I think he is. Sure enough, this is the same Nelson from Foster Care. Freckles covering his face and straight red hair pulled into a high ponytail. He looked so much cleaner than since I last seen him.
I reach to hug him but he dodges my grasp causing me to fall face first on the ground. "Mistress are you hurt?"
I swiftly stand up then glare at Nelson. "Stop calling me mistress! And hell yeah I'm hurt. We're friends so why won't you let me touch you?"
He awkwardly coughs then gestures me to look at myself. I look down at myself and see nothing wrong. I am still wearing the blue dress from yesterday except...its covered with cake! I was planning on eating the cake after I pretended to fall asleep but Aiden and Piper distracted me so I fell asleep for real.
This sucks! I think to myself as I fiddle with my dress. But then I snap out of my thoughts immediately. I need to find Ruby.
I look around the room quickly. This room is way too big for it to just be a bedroom so there must be a bathroom behind one of these doors.
Nelson walks away from me then opens up a large wooden door. I hear him turn on the shower water then he walks out. "Mis- I mean Alexandra please get ready for breakfast."
I'm not hungry but I guess that is the side effect of only eating bits and scraps. I'm sure once I smell the food my stomach will perform a very disturbing musical. I slightly smile at my thoughts before stepping into the bathroom.
I walk into the shower with my dress still on. I figure it'll save me more time than if I were to wash the dress separately. Once I'm sure that me and the dress are squeaky clean I step out of the bathroom.
Nelson is no longer in my room but I notice a new dress laid across my bed. I cringe just looking at it. The dress is bright pink with frills and sparkles all over it. This would be my dream dress when I was younger but now it seems weird.
I open three doors before finally being able to find the closet. Nelson must be crazy if he thinks I'm walking out of this room wearing a pink tent.
I'm satisfied to see a plain white T-shirt and some jeans in the way back of the closet. Of course they don't fit me but the long T-shirt should prevent my butt from sticking out.
A petite girl walks into my room with a blank expression on her face. She looks the same age as me. "Mistress are you ready for breakfast?" She asks as she bows her head.
"Not another one! Are you my personal maid or something?" I whine as I look her up and down. She looks familiar but I can't come up with a name.
"Of course not. I'm your bodyguard." The girl bows again then smiles. "Would you like to see my skills?"
I hesitate on how to answer but I eventually shake my head no. The only thing she could test her skill with would be me and I don't have the strength to be a punching bag today.
