Chapter 5: Weeping Willow.
"Okay I taught you the basics and the extremes on how to function your phone twelve times. Do you need further instructions?" Aiden exhausting sighs as I look down at my iPhone screen.
"How do I turn it on again?" I jokingly ask as I watch his face twist with shockness. "I'm kidding. Thanks!"
"Good, now could you guys please get out! I'm going to play videogames and I don't want any distractions." Aiden whines as he motions for us to get out.
I wait for everyone besides Aiden to walk by me before I begin speaking. "You guys go ahead. I need to talk to my big brother."
Everyone walks out besides Beatrice. She looks at me cautiously then at Aiden. She must be worried for my safety but Aiden's my brother.
I'm not foolish enough to trust strangers. I think of the words I said to Grayson when I first met him. Technically speaking, Aiden is still a stranger to me.
Beatrice steps beside of me then covers her ears with her hands. "I won't eavesdrop but I must stay with the mistress." She says as she keeps her eyes locked on Aiden.
"What exactly would you possibly need from me, Alex?" Aiden asks as he shrugged off what Beatrice said.
"Why, just why would you tell me about the death? It would've drove me crazy if I didn't ask but doing so made Ruby cry and I hate seeing her cry!" I ask as I clenched my fists by my sides. I wasn't going to punch him but my temper could go out of control and digging my nails in my palms seemed to calm me down a notch.
Aiden roughly places his hands on my shoulders then looks me harshly in the eye. "You honestly have no idea of how fucked up our family tree is. Or how fucked up the backgrounds of our servants are. The only possible way you could find out would be by snooping around and I needed to get you ready for that."
I slap his hands off of my shoulders then grab his shirt collar. "I'm asking why did the snooping have to involve Ruby?"
Aiden glares at me but sighs heavily, "Ruby is merely a pawn. Just like me or Piper, hell, even Noah. You need to use pawns to get to the king right?"
I look at him dumbfounded. "What the hell are you talking about?" I ask as I released his collar.
He shakes his head back-and-forth with a grim expression on his face. He walks up to his bed then grabs something from under is mattress.
"Catch!" He yells as he tosses something into the air.
I reach up to catch it. I cradle what he thrown to me gently in my hands. "What is it?" I ask Aiden as I stare at the heavy box. It has a padlock in the center of it.
"Open it up. The code is already set."
I nod at Aiden then pull the padlock open. I lift the top then pull out what is inside. It was a large album titled Parmer Family.
"Do you want to know why your parents were shot to death 10 years ago? Everything is in the book." Aiden states as he slumps down on his bed, his hands folded and a grim expression appeared on his face.
