No One's PoV

A row of people knelt at the edge of a wall, each accompanied by someone who stood behind them and wore dull blue uniforms. The people kneeling were in distress while the others who were dressed like officers behind them were nonchalant. With a single command each officer who were apparently holding something in their hand placed the object they had on the kneeling people's napes. They grunted in pain, some screaming and most crying out with tears streaming down their faces. Once they took the object off of their necks they were simultaneously kicked off the edge of the wall and were consumed by bright, golden lights and a thick cloud. Only three people remained on the wall's edge, the other officers which kicked those people off had already left once the deed was done. One of the three people left on the wall was the final remaining person to be kicked off. He had disheveled dark brown hair, turquoise eyes which were red from crying. Then something peculiar happened.

The officer who stood behind the final man pushed their fellow officer off the edge of the wall, most likely their superior. They weren't consumed by blinding lights or clouds and roughly landed at the bottom. The final remaining officer took out a small pocket knife and cut himself and in place of where he once stood was a giant, a Titan.

The boat that was the only form of transportation back to their home was demolished by the Titan while screams and gunshots were fired. In the end only the Titan and the disheveled haired man remained alive.

The same officer who betrayed their superior and transformed into a Titan walked up the stairs to the top of the wall with a child in their arms. They claimed to have brought them here as a last resort, telling the man something that the child easily overheard but didn't understand at the time. The man engulfed the small child in their arms with a sad smile and walked off with the officer so she wouldn't see what happened next.

When the brown haired man returned he picked up the child and safely brought them down to the other side of the wall. The officer never returned with him. This was the beginning of a long and treacherous journey into unknown land.

Mikasa groggily peeled her eyes open and found herself laying on a thin blanket. The sun above her made her vision blurry and the temptation to fall back asleep rose. It was only when she realised where she was and what had happened that she instantly got up, eyes wide awake and alert. Her dark irises frantically searched for one person and she was breathing heavily.

"Mikasa! You're awake." The blond boy hurriedly made his way to his injured friend's side, asking her whether she was in any pain or if she needed anything. His questions were ignored by her as she continued to pursue her own questions about the person she was desperately trying to find.

"Where is he? Where's Eren? What happened?!" She was breathing hard while flipping her head around.

"He's gone." Mikasa froze and faced the girl who she didn't notice sitting on the edge of the wall in front of her. Her legs limply dangled off the edge, her posture hunched over making it appear as if she was about to fall over.
