CHAPTER 14

JENNIE'S POV
I don't understand right now, yesterday this was really peaceful, and today Jisoo and Athan can't stop arguing. What the hell is wrong with them? This is giving me a terrible headache...

-Jisoo: How come you think to invite that person to join us?! Have you gone insane?!
-Athan: C'mon... Jisoo we both know that you have always wished to be close, this is your chance, why can't you see it?!
-Jisoo: Because she doesn't need to to get involved with us, okay? This was created just because you wanted to make Jennie forgive about what you did! (pissed)
-Athan: You shouldn't go too far, Jisoo. I warn you... (sighs pissed)

What he did? Why do I need to forgive him? What are they talking about? I don't get them...

-Jisoo: Look, she won't join us.
-Athan: Start getting used to the idea Kim Jisoo, she'll be here tomorrow.
-Jisoo: I'll kill you if you really bring her.
-Athan: As if you could... (smirks and leaves the club)
-Jisoo: Agh! (groans in annoyance) I hate him!
-Jennie: (gulps) Unnie... Why are you arguing?
-Jisoo: Because Athan wants to bring certain person here that I don't want to. I need to protect her... (sighs) She doesn't need to get involved with us.

-Jennie: Is it really that bad? From my perspective, I belive that having someone near is the easiest way to protect that person (smiles)
-Jisoo: I understand that...
-Jennie: But?
-Jisoo: But I wouldn't know how to explain her that she's not human. I wouldn't know how to explain her about everything (looks down)

Wait a moment... So the person that Jisoo wants to protect is not human. And Athan said that I am the same for him as that person for Jisoo. Does that mean that I am not human neither?!

-Jennie: Unnie! I need to leave... (takes the jacket)
-Jisoo: Where are you going?
-Jennie: I need to talk with Athan about something really important! (leaves the club) Athan! Athan where are you!

I look for him around the college but he's no where to be found. Suddenly, something inside my head clicks, he's probably at the rooftop. I head upstairs and there I find him, I knew it.

-Jennie: Athan...
-Athan: Oh Jen, what brings you here?
-Jennie: I need to talk with you...
-Athan: Did Jisoo try to convince you about not bringing that girl or something?
-Jennie: No, but she said something that really concerns me. She said that the girl she's trying to protect is not human... Does that mean that I am not, neither?
-Athan:...

There it goes, that gulping and his silence already answered my question. What the hell am I? Am I not a human? Is all of this a lie?

-Athan: Jennie I-
-Jennie: What am I? Why do I assist to class and have a normal life if I'm not a human?! What the hell am I doing?!
-Athan: Jennie, please calm... (sighs) I understand that you are having plenty of doubts right now. But I swear that nothing wrong is going on...
-Jennie: What do I have to forgive you for, Athan? What was Jisoo unnie talking about?
-Athan: I should start talking little by little... (sighs) This is not the same world you used to know, Jennie.
-Jennie: And what's that supposed to mean?
-Athan: That's the world's biggest secret, Jen. I can't tell you... It goes against the rules... (looks down) My work is to keep it secret, however... I would like you to know the truth. I really want you to know me! Please Jennie, tell me that you'll discover who I really am (starts tearing)

I really didn't expect something like this. I'm totally caught off guard... Athan is crying. It's the first time that I see him like this... He needs me to know the truth, he wants me to get to know him. That's what he's expecting from me, I finally understand.

-Jennie: (places a hand on your cheek) I'll find out who are you... (smiles) I don't understand your reasons, anything if I'm honest. But soon I'll know everything about you, okay?
-Athan: Jen... I've done something terrible to you in the past...
-Jennie: (forces a smile) It's okay Athan, now it's part of the past. If I forgot about it, it's probably because it was not for that much...
-Athan: I don't know why do you still smile at me... I'm really a monster. Everyone hates me. Jennie, if once you discover what I've done, you also hate me... I'll understand it.
-Jennie: I will never hate you Athan. Really... (chuckles) Although I have ti admit that you are really annoying from time to time...
-Athan: (smiles weakly) Thank you Jennie.
-Jennie: (hugs you) Stop crying, let's go and eat something...
-Athan: That actually sounds great... (chuckles)

This boy, its really confirmed that I have no clue about him. Everyday he keeps on showing me a different side of himself... Today I have discovered how delicated he is despite that rude and confident aura that he always wears. Maybe he's just hiding behind that mascara. Maybe the real Athan is the one that I met today...

Also, he's really worried about the fact that once I discover what he did to me, I'll hate him no matter what. Did he really do something that horrible?

I don't really know how will I react in a future, but he looks really regretful. I'm sure that whatever that happened was not what he planned. This boy has no evil inside. He's a good person, I'm really convinced of that.

-Jennie: You are a good boy, Athan (smiles)
-Athan: (startled) What are you saying so suddenly?
-Jennie: I can't hate you, like really (chuckles)
-Athan: I'm really happy that you think of me in that way... However, that's not true (looks down) Now you say that, but in a future-
-Jennie: Hey! We are living in the present... I just discovered that I am not human. Why would I worry about the future now? (chuckles) You know... We could... We could have fun tonight.
-Athan: What are you saying? (laughs) I better bring you home as soon as we have dinner.

He's no fun... Despite his bad boy aura, he really wants to protect me. God, that's making my heart flutter a bit... This is weird, every side I discover of him, I like it. This can't be happening... I think that I'm starting to feel something weird for Athan...
